or Mac users. So (since most of the people who watch my cam are AOL users) I just scrapped the whole project. Bleah. I'm half tempted to drop a bunch of cash and buy a new webcam that comes with its own server =PSo (as some of you know), I spent half the day working on my webcam - I found a new free software/hosting company that gave a much faster, clearer picture. Unfortunately, (after hours of trying to get it to work with my firewall and my local network) I read in the faq that it would not display to AOL users, |
So, I'm back to painting! I've got my regular webcam page re-instated here: http://geocities.yahoo.com/webcam/public/jasminetoad
Anybody who changed their bookmarks to the new one, just move it back =P
were you trying to set up with webcamnow.com? their program looks cool. : D
what is it you're working on? Your peep show piece? ; )
I tried webcamnow and camarades, and neither one would work with my stupid firewall. =P I might have to work on that later...
I didn't get a Peep Show piece in time =( I like the idea though - I was thinking about having a human voyeur into a little underground faerie/goblin world or something - I might just paint it anyways =)
I was working on "Hansel & Gretel" - I've finally finished them up - I'll have them posted later today!
Here I am on Livejournal! First time I saw an artist painting on a webcam and it's totally intense, actually ... the whole concept of the "public art studio" ... taking cyberspace to a whole 'nother dimension. Brava + aloha!
Hi Robyn!!! I'll add you on my friends list asap! It's great to see so many EBSQers here on LJ - I love reading about all of my artist-friends!!!
Thanks Jasmine! This whole concept has really given me a great new burst of creative energy, along with the spring, and thank you very much for being very much the pioneer on this, and for sharing. I even was motivated mostly by this energy to create a new about me page and some new icons, and we have some intense foresty greenery here ( of course this being a 6 million acre state park LOL ) perhaps if I get some good photos of rare plant formations I will send them on to you as reference photos to try to return some of the favor.
Thanks and much aloha!
Hi Robyn! That sounds awesome! Sometime this week I'm going to bring my own camera with me when I go on the nature trais right by my home (very jungle-like) and I'll share them here on my LJ as well!
Very cool, feel free to utilize any reference photos you like that you see now if you see an inspirational mushroom or something ( and my work doesn't utilize the realistic aspect anyhow as you know LOL ).
Thought the pics might be too small on the web to really get the details for flora and fauna inspiration ... so the CD Rom with JPEGS will be coming your way in a couple weeks, soon as I get enough pics accumulated, best aloha,
AW! I'm sorry the other one won't work for you :( You cam now is very fuzzy looking for some reason? I'll be peeking in to watch you paint tonight :)
Eep - yeah - I must have accidentally unfocused it while I was messing with it!! Now that I've got my new art desk, I can set the camera directly over the painting, so it's way clearer! I'll be on in an hour or so painting =)
You got an art desk! That's great! I'm soooo sick of painting at the living room coffee table! :P I couldn't imagine painting the floor like you were. I felt so bad for you! That would kill my back! I'll be peeking in on the painting today :) *all smiles*
Oh no! Sorry you went through all that only to have it not work! =(
Now that your back to the old way your webcam is a little fuzzy now.
Lol - thank you for telling me! I think I unfocused the lens without noticing!
