Wheee! [May. 15th, 2003|03:00 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
Yesterday afternoon Matt & I went to Disney-MGM Studios! We had a lot of fun, and we ate at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre which is a themed restaurant there that looks like you are sitting outdoors at night at an old Drive-In theatre (you sit in cars!) and there is a big movie screen that shows clips of 1950's cheesy scifi movies - it's really fun.

After that we went to the Magic Kingdom and played around on Tom Sawyer's Island, rode a bunch of rides, etc. It was lots of fun too! The park wasn't crowded at all, and we walked right on to every ride (we even did Splash Mountain twice in a row!). After that we went to Downtown Disney and hit the Virgin Megastore and bought some Manga, and then bought some great incense at the House of Blues. It's fun shopping around Disney since Matt always gets awesome discounts! Ministry was playing at the HOB, which I thought was pretty cool. Unfortunately you have to buy tickets to get into the shows there, lol. I'm going to keep a close eye on their concert schedule to see if any bands I like are going to play there!

Today we went to the grocery store, a surf shop (we want to buy some body boards for when we go to the beach!), JoAnn's (I bought some more paint - I can't believe I ran out of black paint already), and we got some sandwiches at Subway. I've gotta run to the Post Office real quick, and then I'll probably start painting!

Matt fell down in the bathtub (he was trying to close the already-closed window, hehe) and bonked his knee really hard - ouch! He was going to pick up a shift tonight at work, but since he's hurt his knee I think he'd better stay off of it for today.

I'll update with my webcam link when I get everything set up!

I love the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre! We've been there a few times. Those old movies are a trip! That's great that you didn't have to wait in any lines. We've been when it was like that before too. It's so nice to have to wait less than 5 minutes for everything. I've also been mid summer when the lines where just crazy! I became the "queen fast pass getter" LOL! My family would all wait in line while I'd go get all of us fast passes for the next ride.

Ouch! Ya it's probably best if he stays off of that knee today. You can't very well wait tables if ya can't walk fast. I hope your hubby is ok soon.

I think I'll be fine. Jasmine and I just went for a short walk and I did ok. When I go up the steps it hurts a bit, but I should be fine for work tomorrow. Thanks for your concern.

The Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre sounds so cool! You guys sound like you are having such a great time there! I must visit Celebration sometime in my life, it sounds like so much fun! My husband would absolutely love it there!

Ministry? Oh rock on! You'll definitely have to check out who else will be playing there in the future. Are tickets expensive?

I wish I had Disney at my doorstep...=(

Tickets seem to vary by who's playing. I know Rob Zombie played here not too long ago - I would have loved to have seen him in a small venue like that. We saw him in an arena back in KC and it was AWESOME!

That is VERY cool. I prefer smaller stages as far as concerts go. My favorite place was the 9:30 club in Washington D.C. Basically a bar that had big name bands play their every week. It allowed a more "intimate" experience with the audience I believe. I got to meet a lot of extremely talented musicians that way.
