I like them.. I'm tempted to snatch the Priestess up for 600, but I know I've gotta be saving for college.. grr... I won't bid right away because I know that'll take away your buy it now option, and there may be someone who'd like to take that option. Have you ever thought about painting ghoulish creatures? I'd enjoy seeing a wrinkly little fellow peeking out from behind some mossy roots, maybe with a little stash of things he's "collected".. hey.. where's my pocket watch?
Thank you so much! =)
I'm planning on throwing in a few goblins here and there - Matt & I are actually working on a book (a picture book, Matt's writing the story) about a goblin and Faery world so I need to brush up on my goblin-painting skills! Matt's kaokame
a big proponent of Goblins' Rights, and he's very vocal about the lack of exposure they get, hehe.
Hmmm... I'm getting ideas already - I might even have a creepy goblinish character in at least one painting very soon...
These are beautiful! I love them both! The Egyptian piece is so detailed and wonderful. That was 13 hours well spent. Sometimes I wonder if just the average person on eBay even realizes how much work goes into something like this. I really don't think they have a clue.
P.s.Thanks for the bid! I'm so proud that you like one of my paintings enough to bid on it! I can really feel myself getting better as an artist! I think all the encouragement from everyone here on LJ and ebsq has helped me a lot. I really felt alone last year. well not really alone but I didn't have any peers to talk with.
I love your Alien Kitties! Matt really likes them a lot too. It seems like every painting that you do is better than the last one - that's definitely the way to be!!!
When I was in college, I thought that I didn't really like pop art. After I got out of school, I realized that pretty much all I had been exposed to was bad pop art, lol. A lot of the students in the art department who seemed to be there by default (as if they weren't good at anything else, so they defaulted to art, since it's harder to objectively grade or something) would do pop art, since they seemed to be under the impression that it was something they could whip out quickly (and it obviously it wasn't!). It would piss me off when I'd bring a painting that I'd worked on for two weeks, and then they'd show their pieces that had obviously been painted that morning.
Since I've been exposed to so many other art styles online now - mainly because of my involvement with EBSQ I've definitely learned a lot more about different styles of art. EBSQ is such a diverse artistic environment - they've got a little bit of everything there!
Keep those cute kitties coming!
Thanks Jasmine I will! :)

Styles of art... I still don't know what to call mine. I want to say "Grunge" art.. but I haven't run across any categories like that anywhere.. PS: I forgot to sign my first note.. after that little gremlin popped into my head I thought of him eyeing someone's pocket watch, and he'd probably be carrying some forks or something else shiny. Hmm.. commission maybe... ~Kevin
WOW! Both of those are just astounding! SO much detail. I love them!!! GREAT job Jasmine! I think these may be my favorite paintings I've seen from you thus far. Although that is a hard decision to make, lol. All of them are incredibly good and WAY better than I could EVER do =)
They're on my list of favourites too, hehe. I really liked doing the "Arcane Ritual" one - since there was so much detail and things, I put in some hidden messages, hehe....
Really? And will you reveal them? I think the heirogliphics are really amazing. They look like they are actually carved into a wall. I'm always amazed at your depth you portray in your pieces. There are so many layers! It must take you forever. I wish I had that kind of patience, lol. I'm not xactly the most patient person in the world =)
Yep! Hehe - they're my secret ;)
I'm not usually a very patient person, but I am when it comes to my artwork. I have a very obsessive personality, and luckily I'm getting better at focusing it towards something productive (ie, painting!).
Thank you so much for the kind words!
I have a pretty obsessive personality as well, not to mention an addicting personality. It just so happens that I am addicted to, and quite obsessed with my work. That is the only way I could spend days and days on one thing without barely even leaving my house, lol.
You are very welcome for the kind words , You quite deserve them =)
Awe, I wish I could afford your arcane faerie. She's absolutely gorgeous. ^_^
Stunning pieces there, Jasmine! As usual!! : D
As always, Gorgeous!!! =)

Hey Jasmine - I got my prints yesterday! Love 'em!
I was looking for your new work on ebay this morning and i saw this -
by somebody named Angelina. It looks like youre sleeping beauty but turned the other way. I found it when i was trying to find your snow white prints.

Oops - that link dosn't work - here it is (i'll never figure out how to do this)
Thank you for the link (and for your print order!). Another concerned eBay artist emailed me late last night and showed me the same auction, and they even did a photoshop-overlay thing with the faces to show me, lol. I looked at the seller-in-question's other auctions and they didn't look like any of my other paintings, so it could just be a coincidence. I did drop her a friendly email asking if she had a website or anything so I could see more examples of her work, just in case.
By the way - I just updated my website the other day with lots of new prints! Both of my Snow White pieces are there (you mentioned you were looking for them) in both the 11"x8.5" and the 19"x13" sizes. http://www.strangeling.com
If you prefer going through eBay, I have two Mix&Match print auctions (both sizes) running continuously in my eBay store now - http://www.stores.ebay.com/strangelingsartgallery
By the way (I apologize if you're already on it, but) I have a mailing list where I update my customers whenever I have new paintings and prints available. Just email me at JasmineToad@aol.com with "JOIN" in the subject line of the email if you'd like to join =)

i just added you to my favorites list on ebay, (i'm on too many mailing lists already & im trying to cut down on them, LoL).
BTW - do you have an extra liveJournal code- this looks like fun!
Actually I've got my last codes set aside for my mom and for my sister. I might get some more in awhile - I don't really know how to generate more, hehe.
I'd actually suggest becoming a "Paid Member" - it's only like $20 or so for a whole year, and you get to upload extra icons and there are other nifty perks as well!
