The last post until Florida =) [Apr. 3rd, 2003|05:18 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
This will probably be my last post before we get to Florida!

Our internet is being turned off after tonight, and will be connected in Celebration next Wednesday the 9th. Hehe - it has been a long time since I have been offline for that long...
I will (attempt to) answer my email as soon as I get my computer hooked up, so in the meantime don't feel ignored!

Today Matt was unable to pick up an extra shift during the day so instead we ran errands. We bought snorkel equipment at Costco (for our vacation to the Florida Keys as soon as we get moved in). We also bought a new car battery (on the suggestion of the auto place that did our tune-up), a "3-in-1" car power station (a cool thingy that will recharge or jump your car battery in case of emergencies, it also is an air compressor in case of flat tires), a "car emergency kit" (with fix-a-flat, flashlight, radiator leak stuff, duct tape and tons of other car stuff), and I forget all what else. We bought more rubbermaid tubs & a tarp at Target to bungee on top of the van for extra storage. I also bought a watch, hehe.
Daddy came and fixed up our shower some more - it looks incredibly good now - much better than when we moved in!

Tonight I am going to get a little painting done while Matt is at work (I think it is too crowded in here to move the webcam though). I will also get more packing done. Matt works all day tomorrow (and tomorrow evening) which will let me get more packing done. Then, Saturday & Sunday we have some last minute errands and packing, (with a brief stop to go out to lunch with mom). We are giving the porch swing to Kachina and will put that in her yard, and the baker's rack too. The futon is going to my dad's house, as is a ton of rubbermaid tubs filled with books and things we are going to store in his basement until we drive up next month for Amber's wedding.

On Sunday we will load up the van with most of our stuff, and then early Monday morning we will leave! We will probably stay overnight somewhere in Georgia and then arrive mid-day in Celebration on Tuesday. The unpacking will then ensue. We will get our cable modem hooked up Wednesday and I will share my moving stories here on LJ =)

Daddy & Robin are then bringing some more of our stuff and we're going with them on a short vacation to Key Largo where they have rented a beach house! After we get back from that things will settle down a little and we'll start getting a more normal routine, etc. Probably.

Anyway - until then wish us luck! I'll take my camera along with us and snap any interesting photos I see along the way and I will post them here. Wednesday I should have the webcam back up and you can watch us unpack boxes, hehe =)

Be seeing you!

Hey, Jasmine, I hope you guys have a safe trek to FLA...and if you've ever seen "Something About Mary", remember to avoid wandering into any bushes at the rest stops! FYI - I came across a very cool book by Eric Drooker (have ya heard of him?...Anyone? - Anyone?) called "BloodSong - A Silent Ballad", perhaps you might find his work quite a treasure as well. It's a quick read (-if you come across it, you'll see the humor in that statement). Anyway, he also has a previous publication called "Flood" that is presented the same way. He's on Harcourt Books. Check him out. Anyway, sorry, I side-barred...I hope Celebration offers great inspiration fo you both and again, safe journeys. Best of the best luck to you guys. Cheers!

Have a safe trip. I'll be praying for you. Btw I got my prints today thank you very much. I wish I would have had more money to buy a couple more Tori prints to give to a few people, but sadly I didn't have anymore.
I can't wait to hear about your travels to a new land.

Hehe - I might have to take you up on that - we're transplanting from the Midwest and a lot of Florida is a mystery to us!

After we get moved in I might have a bunch of questions =)
