I've always been interested in alchemy and medieval/renaissance science and magic (and how the two were very often interchangeable). I was lucky enough to see one of Nicholas Flamel's original books in London a few weeks ago, and it inspired me to explore some more alchemical themes in my work. There are a lot of references in old alchemical texts to an item called the "Philosopher's Egg" - it is all veiled in such obscure mysticism it's difficult to decipher, but I liked the phrase so I have created my interpretation with the eggs growing with runes on them (symbols for Abstraction, Digestion, Reverberation, Composition and of course Cum Vino!), with a medieval landscape in the distance.
The frame on this is cool - my husband Matt has cut a special gothic triptych which gives it a particular medieval/renaissance feel - really suits the painting very well! It almost has an altarpiece or stained glass window look to it! Here is the original painting itself (great photos!):

Now completely up to date - my Faces of Faery Gallery at Strangeling.com has been updated all the way through Faces of Faery #206. Whew!
You can see the updated gallery HERE. You may notice I've also now divided the gallery up into two pages, the first one hundred paintings is on one page, and the other page has numbers #101-#206. Both pages can be accessed from each other at the link above. All Faces of Faery Hand Embellished Limited Edition Canvases are up there now, and are only $75 with FREE SHIPPING worldwide! Ready-to-hang!
All of these are wrapped on boards, ready-to-hang, a hanger already on the back. That means when you open up your package in the mail you can immediately stick it up on your wall - no framing needed. They are all 6x6" square - this means that they make wonderful groupings - a lot of my collectors like to hang them in groups (either by theme, colour, mix & match, etc). I myself often hang them on the wall in groups of 25 or 36 making large squares out of them - looks pretty awesome! They also look great by themselves in small nooks or crannies, above a lightswitch, along the top of the bookshelf - great for decorating.
I hand embellish each and every one of these with my usual acrylic paints & paintbrushes, and each signed and numbered - I only make 25 of each painting as part of the Limited Edition. So far they are all still available but a few are starting to run low, so definitely snag one if you have a favourite.
And yes - Strangeling.com prints & canvases (including these new Faces of Faery) still get FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. As in everywhere. No matter how many (or how few) you order. My free shipping promo will be ending soon once my site gets overhauled a little later this winter, so definitely take advantage of it while you can.
You can see the updated gallery HERE.
