Re: ahem...

Thank you thank you!

Yep - he's the same Toad from Disney's version of Wind in the Willows. I have an affinity with Mr. Toad. Some say he's my alter ego, but usually I just tell people he is my great-uncle. Maybe both are true...

oh salce, salce...

ahh, i haven't seen the moOovie. i've only read the book & mr.toad was fabulous. but my absolute favourite was the water rat. ;)
you know, i'm very happy to know that there is a 23 year old girl living off of her art in this worlde.
it's something i want to do but haven't figured out how to yet. but reallie, knowing about what you do for a living is very inspiring.
so, *thank you*

I love the wings on Jade in particular, and the moody feeling I get with it...

Snow White, in my opinion, is every bit as good as your Alice painting and I fare will fetch a similar price...I won't even put down my opening bid of $50 I know I'll get outbid so quickly :) The hair was especially nice on this one in how you caught both blue and yellow highlights...very 3D. Straw on the cottage is excellent too. I was wondering...do you use pointed round brushes on the hair or a fan brush (I'm imagining both are tiny)?

Hey now - every little bid helps! =)

I desperately need brushes! I wear my brushes into the ground, lol. I painted this whole piece using a 1.5" fan brush and a tiny little script-liner brush. It probably could have gone much quicker if I had some mid size brushes! Next time I go to the art supply store I need to buy a zillion new brushes.

i have never used a fan brush, ive always wanted to though, you know because of the happy tree guy on pbs. my art teacher in highschool here used to rag on that guy so bad. i like him though i was sad when he died :( i hope he went to happy tree land.

Awww... Bob Ross =)

I have happy memories of him. We didn't have cable most of the time when I was little, and there was nothing else on weekend afternoons to watch except for him!

When I was 14 I used part of my spelling bee winnings to buy the Bob Ross Oil Painting for Beginners set! It was really when I first started taking art "seriously" =)

I love them both! Snow White looks beautiful and the cottage is perfect!

I'm going to give my fan brushes a try. I have a few of them. I've never really used them, I bet I could paint some great cat fur with them.

Fan brushes are perfect for fur! Or anything else that needs many tiny soft lines going in the same direction =)

Thank you! I am very proud of my Snow White. It's one of those pieces that I would really, really want to keep for myself.

When I buy a house I'd love to do some forest murals - maybe with a cute cottage like this one on the wall!
