A brief update [Mar. 20th, 2003|04:52 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
I finished "Jade"! I like how she turned out. I will probably post her either tonight or tomorrow (I think I will list her on eBay tomorrow night).

I've decided to go with Snow White in front of a forested cottage scene, holding the apple but not yet biting into it - suspenseful =)

I'm starting now!

Snow White

Snow White is a great idea. You know what would be really cool? To do some kind of scene with the infamous mirror. Maybe not necessarily a scene straight out of Snow White, but more of a rendition of a scene with a Jasmine "twist"..=) Just a thought... I'm sure anything you do will turn out wonderful...

Re: Snow White

Hi Kayti!!!

I love that Magic Mirror =) That would definitely make for a cool painting. I might end up doing several Snow White pieces - I keep thinking of different parts of the story that would translate well into a painting.

My sister and I were just playing "Disney Charades" on Wednesday, and I had to pretend to be the Magic Mirror, hehe. It was a pretty hard character to portray!

Re: Snow White

How in the world did you portray yourself as The Magic Mirror if you were unable to speak? Did they guess it? That sounds like a fun game I should like to play. Have you ever played Disney's Trivial Pursuit? I love that one. I'm a geek in such ways that I'm able to answer almost every question correctly. However when it comes to regular Trivial Pursuit...well...yeah... I won't go there....=)

I can't wait to see how your Snow White painting turns out! Have you ever thought of going into animation?

Re: Snow White

Hehe - let me remember...

I couldn't figure out how to act like him per se, so I just pretended I was looking into a mirror in general (like pretending to brush my hair and check my makeup). My sister Kachina guessed right away!

We play Disney Trivia a lot too - I love that game =)

I had originally intended on moving to Florida to become an intern animator at Disney, but after awhile I decided I can't do the "9 to 5" thing very well. I also got very worried that if I had a full-time art-involved job I would start neglecting my own artwork. I'd love to maybe do freelance with Disney or work for them on a specific project! That would be a blast - here's hoping!

Re: Snow White

Yeah, I'm no good at that "9-5" thing either. However, since I'm in college I have to work full time to pay all my freakin' bills. It seems to me like I paint more than I do anything so it would be nice if I could just quit my day job and paint for a living. Unfortunately, that is not quite possible at the moment....=( I could do it if I bit the bullet and painted "normal" things for the galleries around here where I live, but I'm not into selling my soul, thank ye very much!!!

I think you should stick to your own art instead of working for Disney. However, it might be cool in the future to do some kind of animation. I'd LOVE to see your Faeries come to life!! What would be extra nifty would be to see a collaboration of all of you "Best Faerie Artists" in the form of some type of animation, or video game or something. That would be SO cool...=)

Talk to ya later!
