|Angel with a Psaltery Original Painting - Gothic Altar - Garden Statues, Cemetery Vill
||[Apr. 7th, 2010|06:11 pm]
I have a brand new original painting for you tonight - another gorgeous gothic altarpiece panel made by my husband Matt - almost looks like a stained glass window - called "Angel with a Psaltery" And guess what - it's up for one penny on eBay! Matt has done a phenomenal job making the frame - you have to see it! In addition I have TWO new lines of collectibles to tell you about - firstly, a new line of OUTDOOR GARDEN STATUES from the Hamilton Collection (huge - one foot tall statues!), and then a new COLLECTIBLE HALLOWEEN VILLAGE from Hawthorne Village
All righty - "Angel with a Psaltery" is the title - this truly is another masterpiece! Another fun collaboration between me & my husband Matt so far! For those art history buffs, this done in the medieval/renaissance altarpiece style - a lovely panel. This is one done in high Gothic style - a solid poplar frame first cut & carved by my lovely husband Matt - and then finished by me in an antiqued coppery/gold leaf finish. Then the painting itself is an original acrylic painting on a masonite panel. READY TO HANG - quite large - 25" high by 13.25" wide, and about an inch thick, very proud of this one! It features two dark angels in the background, with a pale angel (silver haired) in the foreground - playing a Psaltery, an ancient stringed musical instrument. The frame looks much like a gothic stained glass window, and Matt has added a hanger on the back, so it is READY TO HANG! She's up for just ONE PENNY on eBay for a 10-day auction ending the evening of Saturday, April 17th at 6:02PM Central Time, and you can see her below:

Next up - my new GARDEN STATUES! Yes, these are my first statues that officially can go outdoors! And they're my largest ever - standing at a FOOT TALL! And they are most definitely durable with a finish suitable for outdoors (or indoors). Would look great right next to your front door, or out in your flower garden. The colours on these are a more subtle, almost pastel finish that will perfectly complement the beauty of nature without looking artificial or distracting. I'm very happy about these!! You guys here are THE FIRST people I've shown these to, to get in early. These are LIMITED edition, so if you want to avoid loooong backorders, or missing out entirely, please do call and reserve yours asap. That way you can get in on the first batch and guarantee you will actually receive yours, hehe. These aren't online yet, only via the phone to call & pre-order. Don't worry, they don't charge you until they actually ship out!
Here is the lovely picture of the first in the series - "Rose"
- the ITEM NUMBER is 09-03916-001 - or ask for Jasmine Becket-Griffith's "Magical Garden Fairies" outdoor statue collection! The first statue is named "Rose" (the series has an inspirational/nature theme). Calling & pre-ordering now by phone will reserve your mermaid statue - you don't have to pay until it ships! Only $49.99 per statue (I think, you may double check when ordering!), these are about a FOOT tall and gorgeous! And yes - as I mentioned - you can put her outdoors (so if your husband/mom/boyfriend/wife/roommate is complaining about you filling up your house with faeries, hehe, she can totally stay outside!).
Next new project - this time from Hawthorne Village! Jasmine Becket-Griffith's "Temptresses at Twilight Halloween Village"
Item Number: # 917506
Available online NOW here
Even though these are currently in pre-production and all I have to show you at this point is the colour rough illustration concept art - the good folks at Hawthorne Village have ALREADY made this available for pre-order/reservation today! So you can get your reservation in and be among the very first people in line to get yours (ie, the earlier you get in, the less likely you are to be on those looong back-order waitlists, or to miss out on the limited edition entirely).
So - look at the illustration there and use your imagination ;)
This is a COLLECTIBLE VILLAGE! Introducing the "Jasmine Becket-Griffith Temptresses at Twilight Halloween Village" collection - featuring my characters along with fun little details like dragons, bats, and Halloween/Vampire creepiness. If you look closely both the girl & her little dragon have vampire fangs, hehe. All of the buildings in this village will be cemetery structures (mausoleums, gravestones, elaborate gothic tombs, etc) - done with intricate attention to architectural detail done only the way that Hawthorne Village can do!
Jasmine's "Temptresses at Twilight" Halloween Cemetery Village
A bit of background info - Hawthorne Village is a company that makes little collectible villages! You know - little statues of buildings to set up as a little village - they come as a collection - every month or so you get a new one. Not only do you get a little house/castle - you also get little complimentary FIGURINES attacherd that go with the village! So you can display them along with their houses, or play with them like it's a very high-end playset (that's what I do, lol, but I'm kind of silly like that). I have Disney's "Nightmare Before Christmas" Hawthorne Village set and it is AWESOME. I'm very happy to now be working on Jasmine Becket-Griffith ones, hehe.
As I mentioned - these are available for pre-order/pre-production reservations. What does this mean? It means that if you think that you would be interested in collecting my Halloween Village, you can put your reservation in NOW, right away, without paying ANY money, just to make sure that you will have reserved yours ahead of time and you won't miss out. And if you change your mind later, it is very easy to cancel, and with their 100% guarantee you can even send yours back (gasp!) for a full refund if you aren't completely thrilled. So it's definitely a "NO RISK" sort of reservation.
As this is still in the works, I do not have a lot of the item specifics yet for my little village. Obviously I, as the concept artist and character designer, know what all I've approved and what will be coming down the road, sketches, etc. - but as far as product specifics, timeline, etc. - you will need to check with the Hawthorne Village/ Collectibles Today people with questions. Here is what I know so far:
*The figures included in the village are based on my characters and my paintings, of course
*All will have a cemetery/vampire theme, a very cute/creepy feel
*These would be PERFECT as Halloween decorations (imagine setting up the whole village on a table-top or window sill - they all light up!)
*In addition to the little village "houses" (tombs, mausoleums, etc.) - you also will be receiving UNIQUE Jasmine figurines to go with the little village - they actually attach onto the little buildings - these are DIFFERENT than the figurines you can buy through the Hamilton Collection. These are little figurines that are meant to accent the village.
*The first Issue is called "Faithful Friends" and features one of my Vampire faeries holding a vampire dragon (he does have tiny fangs) on a GLORIOUS mausoleum step. The perfect little building to start off your village (or if you only want one, you can stop here!) You will also see a very cute bat that is attached to the top
*There may be up to 20 different issues in this village, but you can just order one, or pick & choose which ones you want to keep/send back, etc.
*Again, these actually LIGHT UP - they are illuminated from within!
*When put together, the buildings will make a wonderful Halloween village specifically scaled to be shown as a set (or individually).
*Each issue is only $39.99 (and that includes the building and free figurine or other accessories) - and you can do it in Two Installments of $20 if you prefer!
*Pre-ordering is starting now it is in pre-production, you can reserve yours NOW and you will NOT be charged any money until your first Village issue has actually shipped!
* As always there is a 365-day guarantee on these, guaranteeing your 100% satisfaction. You can cancel at any time and they have a very easy return policy if you aren't 100% happy.
You can get your reservation by ordering here (again, you will NOT be charged until your figurine actually ships, as this is a test market in pre-production as of April 7th, 2010):
