Yesterday was one of the worst days I've had in a long time, ugh!
Certainly reminds me of why I moved to Florida in the first place, and why I love living there.
Freaking ICE on everything up north. After hitting Kentucky on the way up here to KC, there was ice on everything. We saw probably 50-100 car accidents in the space of a couple hours.
Then WE got into a car accident, which sucked. Nobody hurt, thank goodness, not a collision. Glare ice though - our van just started spinning all over I-64 until we went off the road, through a ditch, and up into some farmer's field in Illinois. The car *almost* tipped for one scary moment. We were seat-belted in, and the cats (of course we had Azrael and Mama Wolf with us) got tossed around within their carrier, but the bungee-belt held their carrier safely in place (so glad we always buckle them in!). The tires actually came OFF the wheels, so there was no getting out by ourselves. We waited as several cops passed us by to get to more serious and injury accidents, and eventully a tow truck came and took us & towed the car to Okawville, Illinois, where we got the tires put on and all that junk.
All the rest of the way was an icy hellhole too, we drove about 15 miles an hour, and then ALL of the westbound I-70 lanes were completely closed for TWO HOURS because of more ice-related car accidents.
Got here to our house in KC late last night. Processed orders, and are doing all the last minute shipping today since the post office is closed for Christmas tomorrow.
All should be well now (except it's freezing cold and covered with snow here, and I miss my palm trees!). Our house is warm and toasty though, and I have presents to wrap and family to see!
I'd better go sign prints so Matty can get out to the Posty.
I hope all of you have a great Christmas Eve today - or just a great Wednesday in general!
Pssst - TONS of new art and jewelry on the way, but I'll probably wait until after Christmas to scan & post it all =)
