So we went to Appliance Direct (Wakkie NuNu! - you Central Florida folks will know what I mean. That place IS Wakkie NuNu, too, but they sure have a lot of appliances!). Bought my dream fridge (well, a reasonably priced dream fridge) with a few small scratches at almoat 50% off. They delivered it, took away the old fridge, and we put all our food (which had been languishing in ice chests and coolers) in the new fridge.
But then that fridge never got cold! 24 hours later, we got the Maytag repairman (who is apparently busier than the commercials would have you believe) over, and he told us the fridge was un-fixable (some weird issue, I don't know). All the food was ruined.
So we had to get a THIRD fridge, same model as the new one I wanted, and Appliance Direct brought it over. And - yay - so far so good! We gave it a day, and it is perfect, so yesterday we spent all day hitting Whole Foods, Publix, and the Indian grocery store I frequent, and stocked up! I love grocery shopping, so this was a fun day for me. I feel rich with food now, I love a well-stocked kitchen!
So that's basically been the excitement around here. That and on Friday we had an AWESOME time at my sister-in-law Heather & her Brian's house! They adopted two new kitties from It's All About the Cats (where we got Mama Wolf), and we got to meet them. Their names are Boma and Jiko (another reference that my Central Florida readers might get, lol) and they are so adorable and fun. Heather made a fantastic spread of food for us too, we had so much fun!
Okay - art time - Steven and Delphine (pssst- HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVEN) will be the only ones here who probably know what inspired this painting, lol (J'suit loup garou! J'suit clairvoyant!!) - but it's enjoyable nonetheless.
The new original painting is called "Loup-Garou: Noir"! This is definitely one of my best paintings to date, I put a lot of work into this one! This is the FIRST in a new series - an offshoot of my popular Wolves series - the new series is called "Loup-Garou" (translated from French = Werewolf). All will feature werewolf/wolf themes set in Rococo France, combining my love of historical French portraiture with wolves and werewolves! This first piece - "Noir" (black) features the first black wolf I've painted. He's shown here in this BIG gorgeous painting sitting next to a sultry court lady (I think she might have some sort of supernatural tendencies herself, her eyes look a bit wolfish!) on an elegant sofa. This piece looks even prettier in person and it is HUGE - it truly can be the focus of any room. I can't hardly stop looking at this one. This is an ORIGINAL PAINTING - not a print of any kind! It is on GALLERY STYLE CRADLED MASONITE - Matt has added a hanger on the back, so it is READY TO HANG! No frame needed! She is an original acrylic painting and is BIG - 24"x18" (masonite, ready-to-hang - check out the auction and you'll see a photo of me holding it to show size) and is up for sale on eBay - a ten day auction starting at ONE PENNY with no reserve - ending on the afternoon/evening of Wednesday, November 5th at 6:21 PM Central Time and you can see her here - click on the little picture to see the whole thing with details:
