working [Feb. 22nd, 2003|01:01 am]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
i've got an insane amount of work to do... argh. i've benn working on commissions and my cafepress shop. it's seemingly neverending...

i just read an email from my dad telling me that he's been trying to call me all night but he kept getting a busy signal. since we've given our furniture away, the phone's just sitting on the ground and it seems the kitties knocked it over. it's too late to call him now (he's probably asleep) so i emailed him back. we should probably move the phone onto something sturdier. daddy & robin and her mom are going to the art museum tomorrow and wanted to know if i could come, but i don't think i'll be able to. i've got a crazy workload and this weekend is my "finish everything up" weekend. also i probably won't get to sleep for a very long time still...

Jasmine! You sound just like me! I think you should take a few hours for your self and go to the art museum with your family. You'll be missing them when you move. I'd work 24/7 just because I work at home. We need a day off too. I know you deserve it. I know I do. So what if your Cafe Press store opens one day later :) I'm going out with my mom. She has a retired greyhound and they are promoting adopting greyhounds at Book-a-Million today. :)
I did looked up that Wacom Graphire graphics pen and table and Photoshop 6 ( is this an Adobe program?) looks like about $300 for it all new. I better start saving my $$$. I've been saying that a lot lately!
Take a break! We deserve it ;)

Hehe - I didn't even fall asleep until 5:30 am or so anyways, so I was pretty well out all morning anyways =P

Yep - Adobe's Photoshop is pretty pricey. I got it so I could do my graphic design homework back in college, and then I started using it for fine arts later. You can buy Photoshop 6 at Half.com for as low as $99 (often on eBay as well). There is also a program called "Photoshop Elements" that I've heard about which is a "Lite" version with most of the primary features and is a lot cheaper. I got my graphics tablet for about $75 at CompUsa - I've also seen them on Half.com for about $40-$50 new. I've got the smaller size (4"x5" I think) and it works perfectly - I don't really see the point in getting the super-big ones.
