Azrael plays fetch =) [Feb. 20th, 2003|11:07 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
Awww.... we got kitties some little plastic balls with jingle bells in them. Azrael had some when he was a kitty and he used to play fetch! We just threw the ball for him and he ran after it, picked it up in his mouth and brought it right back! It looks like he remembers how to play just fine. He does it over and over again, and even will drop the ball directly into our hands. He plays fetch better than any dog I've known, what a good kitty =)

I got a few more things done for some commissions tonight. I've got a few more things I need to do tomorrow for them too. I'm also working on some new paintings - I've got some more "Alice in Wonderland" art planned, as well as some new digital pieces too. I would like to do some larger paintings. I have a large canvas pad (16x20) that is dying to be used, and I've got soooo many ideas. I'm thinking about doing some more Egyptian themed work and some more gothic stuff too.

I'm going to go make some dinner now!

Yep =) I love anything Alice - I was heavily influenced by Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass when I was a little girl. I was fascinated with a lot of Lewis Carroll's mathematics treatises and logic problems when I was in high school as well - he was a brilliant (though rather odd) fellow. I've done one Alice piece (Alice and the Birds) and I've got a few more still in the "primordial ooze" stage (as my old art professor would say!).

Ah yes, today was one of the few days I got to eat dinner before midnight! Matt works evenings and doesn't get home until late, and I've had perpetual insomnia since I was 14 so it works out just fine. Usually around 2:00 am I stop "officially" working, and a little after that I take out my contact lenses and switch to a sketchbook if I'm still feeling creative. I then pop in a Simpsons tape (if you look at my webcam between 2am and 11am you will see a lot of yellow on my TV). I generally fall asleep around 4 am or so. I then sleep until about 10 and then begin painting =) I'm lucky that I work at home - regular 9 to 5 jobs would kill me!

I know what you mean between 2 & 3am has become my normal bed time. I've always been a night owl though. High school was horrible because of the early schedule and being the opening waitress once in a while at Ruby's was really bad too. Doesn't your hubby also work at a restaurant? Plus I do my best work in the early morning hours! I'd probably stay up later if I didn't get up at 7 to get my son ready for school. After he leaves I go back to bed till about 10-10:30. It's become routine now. My mom still thinks it's not normal but what really is?

Yep - Matt works for the Rainforest Cafe. He's being transferred to the one at Downtown Disney, so that works out perfect with our moving plans! We'll probably become even more night-owlish since the Downtown Disney restaurant is open even later, hehe.

We Love the Rainforest Cafe! We ate there the last two times we were in Orlando! :) Have you ever been to Disney Quest? My hubby and son love that place!
I've been lucky, my hubby was transferred to a Ruby's that is in the mall here. They have a little bit shorter hours and even close early on Sundays.

I like Rainforest a lot too. I used to waitress there before I started focusing on my artwork. We LOVE DisneyQuest!!! I love the virtual Pirates of the Caribbean. Now that you just pay one admission price it's so much fun to be in an arcade where you can play unlimited games. I've been too spoiled by DisneyQuest to even go to regular arcades any more, (I just can't bring myself to stick a couple bucks into a single game at the local mall arcade, hehe). Have you been to the Rainforest Cafe at Disney's Animal Kingdom? It's even bigger than the one at Downtown Disney!

Re:

Me too! I found myself playing a lot of games in there that I wouldn't even think of playing in the mall! I'm strangely drawn to all the skateboarding, and skiing games. I liked Invasion, Alien Encounter, where you have to pick-up all colony members. I was always the driver because my two guys love to shoot things (*shoot things in games only). Personally I think the driving part is more challenging than just aiming and shooting. The Pirates of the Caribbean is cool too! Once again I was the captain every time but that's good I like to drive in those kind of games.
No, we haven't been to that one yet and we've only been to animal kingdom twice.
I'm off to the post office with about 10 or 11 packages. I'm so glad they like me there! :) I'll talk to ya later.
