Yesterday we bought a new car! Well, actually it's a used car, but it is very nice and has been regularly serviced by its original owner. It is a lovely grey Plymouth Grand Voyager. It seats seven (you know, Matt, me, Azrael, Quan-Yin, and um, three others). It will work great for the move - we'll be able to fit a lot of stuff in it along with the U-Haul. It also gets remarkably good gas mileage (like 29 hwy - not bad for a van). It's the first car I've had with power locks and power windows, a working air conditioner (important for Florida!) and heater. It has a perfect interior and nearly perfect exterior (it just needs a tiny paint touch up on some of the black detailing). It even has one of those ceiling console things that has a digital readout of the compass direction the car is pointed and the outside temperature (how cool!). I'm very excited! We'll have to wait until Thursday to go pick it up though. They were asking more than I wanted to spend, so we offered about $500 less and they accepted it (they were really nice people too). So, I'm excited - and a few thousand dollars lighter, unfortunately. But, since I've bought the car and already paid the deposits and everything on our new apartment most of our moving costs are already covered. Now we'll just need furniture, but we can buy most of that gradually if we need to.
Also yesterday we bought some plane tickets for Kachina & James to come visit us the last week of April! Hehe, it's funny, I'm already excited about them visiting and we haven't even moved yet! Since Kachina is a Disney castmember she gets into the parks for free, and she has complimentary guest passes for James, and they'll stay with us and we are going 50/50 with the plane tickets, it should be a very cheap vacation for them! Kachina is also thinking about buying an annual pass to Universal Studios since she's going to be visiting a lot.
Today I'm going to be working on some commissions I need to finish, and I'm also going out shopping with Kachina to look at clothes. I threw out a lot of my old clothes (I tend to wear my clothes into the ground and a lot of my older clothes had disintegrated into little more than rags). Ugh, more money to spend... Oh well, I'm going to be putting a lot of paintings up for sale soon, and hopefully I'll get some more money in my account before we move!
