Beautiful new DRAGON Painting - from my FRANCE trip! [May. 30th, 2007|08:52 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
It has been pretty crazy around here trying to get caught up after my class in France. Whew!

I have finally had time though to finish a new painting - it turned out REALLY well, and being inspired by my trip to France it has a French title - "Dragon D’arc-en-ciel" (Rainbow Dragon). My art class visited a medieval village atop a hill in the Burgundy region and we had a picnic at a scenic overlook - we discussed the landscape extensively, so I decided to incorporate it into this painting. A lovely dark maiden is standing on top of a hill overlooking a scenic countryside valley - with a magnificent dark dragon with rainbow accents at her side. I am so proud of this painting, it is truly one of my best to date. So much detail!!

Click HERE to see my "Dragon D’arc-en-ciel" ORIGINAL PAINTING!

To see any OTHER available originals, just visit my Original Paintings section of my store here.

I'm slowly uploading and sorting through the photos from my trip. Don't worry - I will do a proper photo post with a trip synopsis soon, when I settle down a little, hehe.

Here's a photo of me & Larry (both looking a little grumpy, but we were really having lots of fun) at the picnic place that inspired my new dragon painting. It was so beautiful there!!

More photos surely to come.... but for now, I need some rest! Enjoy, everybody!

What a lovely memorandum of your stay in France-the countryside there is magnificent, makes me homesick for old blighty.
Btw, both Lani and I were struck looking at this picture, how much you look like a gothic Nicole Kidman.

It really was a beautiful place, I loved it. Hey - I'm actually visiting Old Blighty next month - staying with my cousins in London for a week =) Anything I shouldn't miss out on there?

I get the Nicole Kidman comment a lot - I definitely take that as a compliment, I've always thought she was so pretty =)

Thank you Pixie! I've got to sort out some more of my pictures and am waiting on a disk from another student there, and then I plan on doing a good vacation synopsis, with pics =)

Off Topic time:
My friends friend is going to Florida in August to go to the Worlds Yoyo Contest in Orlando. He is going to pick her up a all-over-print sweater there but doesn't know where to shop at! Hes from Brazil. Do you know of a store that sells them around there?

Thank you Kris!!

Very cool! Hmm - I'm not sure what an all-over-print-sweater is, hehe. I really don't know how many sweaters of any kind you'll find in Florida in the summer, but his best bet is probably the Florida Mall - it's a good mall, really big, and chock full of clothing stores of all kinds. It's a big stop for tourists too so any taxi should be able to get him there!

This has nothing to do with your post, but I just found checks online that can be ordered with your "gothlings" on them!

In case others didn't know about this, here's the link:

They are GREAT checks - I have them myself (the company that licensed them gave me a big box, hehe) - and I get a lot of compliments on them =)
