Orca Mermaid, Blue Dragon, gardening news, etc... [Jan. 8th, 2007|06:54 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
Hey everybody!

I have a new never-before-seen painting to show you, and a re-listed older painting, and some other art stuff, check it out:

"Blue Dragon" ORIGINAL PAINTING 2005

You probably recognize this one - it's from two years ago, in the end the winning bidder was unable to pay for the auction, so I have gone ahead and re-listed it. It has been a popular print, so here is your chance to own the ORIGINAL - hopefully she will finally find a happy home (instead of being hidden away in my art cabinet, lol).

The next picture though - you've never seen this - I just recently painted her, she was a custom commissioned painting for a private client. So the original of course has already been sold, but you now have the opportunity to grab the next best thing - the #01/25 Limited Edition Hand Embellished Canvas print! It's a beautiful piece, a magical mermaid with some breaching orcas (killer whales) in the background and a magical orca-orb. Click below to see....

"Orca Magic" Lt. Ed. #01 CANVAS PRINT

Next up, another relic from 2005 (also from a non-paying bidder, hopefully she will now find a happy home) is the #01 first Lt. Ed. Canvas Print of "Fairy Countess"! I've sold several of these canvas prints in the edition in the past two years, but here is your chance to snatch up the very first, #01 print - she's been sitting in my closet as well, so give her a good home!:

"Fairy Countess" #01 Lt. Ed. CANVAS PRINT from 2005

Then I also have the new "Orca Magic" open edition prints on SALE this week! Click below to see:

"Orca Magic" 8x10 SALE PRINT $10 & "Orca Magic" 12x16 SALE PRINT $20

Lovely!

The backyard gardening project is going well - Matty has been working very hard. We've got a beautiful multi-tiered waterfall fountain now, it makes a beautiful running water sound I can hear even from inside upstairs when I go to sleep, very calming. We also have a very pretty metal arbour on which I have already started training some more bougainvilleas and some jasmine (yes, I love jasmine plants in addition to sharing their name) vines to grow on it.

Matt finished planting my herb garden yesterday - I have dill, rosemary, TONS of basil, different kinds of mint, cilantro, I forget what all. I also planted catnip, hehe, and lo and behold a few hours later a stray cat showed up in my yard! It's like magic!

Also we planted some peppers & tomatoes.

Then today we planted PINEAPPLES! I love pineapples, and they are such cute plants. I put them in between the Lime tree and the Banana trees =)

Also today we got a bunch of Coleus plants, several more hibiscus bushes/trees, Peace Lilies, and I forget what else. The garden is looking wonderful - once the plants start to grown and settle in, it should be amazing.

Oh yes, I got some climbing roses and a trellis as well.

My mother & stepdad are flying in day after tomorrow, they're staying with us for their vacation here in Florida. Three days after that, my sister Kachina, her husband James, and their kids Theodore and Eleanor are coming to stay through February! It's going to be hectic around here!

I'll be painting up a storm though, because it's getting to be tax time. Even though I paid my quarterly estimated taxes already, I still owe several thousands, and I have to still pay the 4th quarter of 2006 AND the first quarter of 2007 coming up. I hate this time of year, it's always so stressful =( So you'll be seeing a lot of new artwork from me in the next month or two, which in the end is a very good thing.

In fact, I'd better go paint now! Enjoy the new art!

Thank you Heather!

I like orcas as well, I always like seeing them at SeaWorld. Matt is kind of afraid of them though, hehe.

I look outside, where it's 30 below today, snowy and getting dark, and this just amazes and amuses me entirely!!

It's a crazy world!

It's been a pretty hot "winter" here, we've had highs in the 80s most days, lows in the 60s. Can't complain though ;)

I love all the pretty paintings sweetie. =)
I hope you post pictures of the yard. It sounds lovely. I think I might need Matt to come over and put a fountain up in my backyard. ;)

Jasmine plants are so lovely, My uncle and aunt, who live in California, have some in their garden. And at night you could smell them. They are awesome.

Btw, I am in love with the orca commissions. WOW

I love jasmine plants so much - I have the trellis of them right by my back window so I can smell them from inside when the windows are open!

Your artwork totally rocks, may I please have permission to use Lost but not worried for the creation of a web set for my non commercial web site?
