|Red Riding Hood!
||[Nov. 1st, 2006|09:27 pm]
We had a great Halloween last night! We bought tons of candy, and ran out for trick-or-treaters - there were lots of them.|
We walked around town a lot - great weather, lots of fun. Stopped by foxmagic's house for awhile - he was getting a ton of trick-or-treaters there as well.
Today I have been painting my hands off - and have finished a new piece! The new painting is pretty fabulous, if I do say so myself! Inspired by the timeless fairy tale, combined with the beautiful autumn season now upon us, it is called "Red Riding Hood in Autumn" - a big 16"x20" acrylic painting on a sheet of cotton canvas - it shows a Red Riding Hood as a little gothlet wandering in a beautiful autumn landscape of dead leaves - she has a magnificent wolf as her companion - not looking too "Big and Bad" right now - click below to see:
I know, I've painted Red Riding Hood four times now, lol, but hey - I like that story! =P
My eyes are still bothering me a lot today, I hope that medicine starts working soon =/
Oh yes - one of the companies I use for hosting images is undergoing maintenance right now. So - some images on a few of my eBay auctions, and a few other places may be going up and down periodically throughout the evening. www.strangeling.com will not be affected. Hopefully everything will be patched up by tomorrow.
Oh yes again - some of you have been asking about the commissioned painting you saw on my webcam the other day - the one wit all the kitty-cats! I have finished it, and the client has given her blessing for me to offer it as canvas prints and prints, so in the next day or two I will have them available =)
Good night everybody! I'm going to go "rest my eyes" for awhile........
I was in Asheville, NC yesterday and ran across a fairy postcard "Starry Night Fairy" that I loved, and as I was searching the web today, I ran across more similar fairies, so I am assuming they are all your artwork. I've really been thinking about getting a fairy tattoo, and so far, your style is my favorite. I don't know much about copyrighting, but would that be okay with you, if I choose to get the tattoo? Feel free to e-mail me at AprilDrake@hotmail.com with a response, or just post it to my LiveJournal. Thanks!

Re: Your Art
Don't worry Jasmine, I've had conjuntivis before (many times actually) and though the drops are annoying the redness and irritation should clear up soon. I hate wearing my glasses too! Remember to use a fresh pair of contacts afterwards or you'll get reinfected. On that note, better clean your keyboard and mouse (your fingers can spread it).
I absolutely love the red riding hood in this painting, she seems so full of character.
Yep, got a new pair of contacts a week later (had to wear glasses in the meantime). I really really don't want to catch that nastiness again!
Thank you so very much!
Yes indeed, in the past couple of years I have licensed my paintings for hundreds of products (posters, postcards, stickers, clothing, statues, tons of stuff). I'm happy that you like them!
Sure thing - you are welcome to use any of my paintings for your tattoo. If you do get a tattoo based on my artwork - please just email me a photo and I will post it on my fairy tattoo website here:http://www.strangeling.com/fairytattoos.html
