Great stuff!!I knew you would wow them at the con. I may be there myself next year, so it'll be nice to finally meet you.
Btw, I saw pics on Kellys journal-how tall are you?
Thank you David! That would be wonderful if you could come too! Let me know if you have any questions about the art show setup, etc.
Lol, well - I'm about 5'6" - not that tall really, but I wear a lot of tall shoes and I'm skinny so that makes me look taller I think =)
It was so great to meet you, Jasmine. I definitely hope you and Matt are able to enjoy more of the con next year. I'll look forward to see you then. Maybe before if I run into you two while I'm at Disney in October.
Jewele was beautiful, I will definitely have to get a print of her.
Thank you so much! >^___^< We might bring some helpers/employees with us next year.
When will you be here in October?
So glad that everything went even better than expected at Dragon*Con, maybe I can make it up there next year, it sounds really fun!
Good luck on your auctions, I love "A Beautiful Rat" and the frame is just perfect for it! Happy painting :)
Thank you Michelle!
It was a great convention, all sorts of crazy stuff and crazy costumes too, hehe. It was a lot of fun even if we did have to work the whole time =P
Glad you did so well at Dragon Con! Whee. Ooh prints on sale...I may take advantage of that. *smirks*
Gorgeous paintings!! I think Jewele is my fave out of the group!!! She's so luminous!!! I have to admit the rat one freaks me out a bit, as I have a rodent-phobia. ^.~ Abraxas is full of golden goodness!!
Matt sure has an eye for framing!!! My hubby chooses mat colors perfectly. I told him that when I hit it big *cough*, that he's going to be my mat/frame-boy just like Matt is for you...LOL I'm not sure that he liked that idea. ;P
Thank you Dawn!!!
Matt was a framer for many years, so he definitely has a good eye for such things. He also matted a ton of prints for Dragon*Con - they looked great (must have, since they all sold, hehe).
Wow! Jewele is. your best. painting. ever! *_*
I'm glad you had fun! It sounds like it was an awesome experience!
Thank you Jasmine! There really is something special about her. The original painting was in a very ornate silver frame that complemented her very well - I miss her all ready!
Glad you had a great time :) They're all beautiful but I am stunned that Abraxas didn't sell at the con!
Thank you Meg!! Next year we might bring some "employees" with us to help out so we can escape and enjoy ourselves a bit from time to time, hehe.
For now Abraxas is going to hang in my living room unless somebody buys him online, hehe. I was hoping he'd sell, but I brought him more as a "showpiece" rather than expecting it. Frankly I didn't expect to sell any originals since I'd heard that most sales were in the under-$100 range, so I was very happy to sell the ones that I did!
I don't know which one looks more difficult, the dress, or the hair (on the new painting). It's stunning!! Hope Azrael is doing better, poor kitty!
It was a fun piece to paint - it did take a long time with all those details, but it was worth it!
Aww, Azrael missed us so much! He was acting really weird yesterday morning too - meowing funny, running around frantically - and then there was the earthquake - I wonder if he could feel it coming?
Jasmine, the new paintings are lovely...especially A Beautiful Rat.
Just a comment, though--sometimes, your signatures are crazy big--for example, in A Beautiful Rat, it's distracting from how wonderful the painting is.
God knows you're doing better at being a professional artist than I am, and it's good to have a recognizeable signature, just something I noticed on quite a few of your paintings
It's only an inch across, I don't think that's crazy big. Perhaps because the painting is only 8 inches across the signature appears larger in comparison? I keep them pretty standard, I like it that way.
HOLY COW, JASMINE!! You've out done yourself on details in those paintings!!! They look amazing! Great job! I'm glad Dragon*Con was a success! Yippee!
Thank you Lisa!!!
It really was a big success - I had a goal $$ I wanted to make, and I made eight times as much as my goal - I'm sooo going back next year!
*drools* oh jas jewele is SO gorgeous! I'm in L-O-V-E!
Thank you Kayti!!! Psst - it is good to see you making so much art again!!
OMG i forgot to tell you! I was at this party Friday and this girl there pulls out a Wicksy Tricksy and False make-up bag!!!! I about freaked out, lol. I was a tad bit intoxicated but I think I must have rambled on about you for 45 minutes LOL! Told her your site and everything. I also showed her a wallet I had that I got years ago with your work on it :) SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!!!! XOXOXOXOXOXO!!!
Lol - that is so awesome!!! >^___^< You are the best!
I'm so very happy to hear you had a really good time at the Dragon*Con. I wish I could have gone. I'm absolutely loving Jewele! She is simply gorgeous. =)
As I told, Matt earlier. We are going to have to get together one night, so you can meet my Matt and we can have dinner and drinks. =)
Thank you Jessica!!!
We can compare Matts! ;)
Wow sounds like you had a lot of success selling your art directly to the people. That is great! :)
Hopefully you had enough in stock :P
When you put your art on Ebay, can you put the size in CM as well as inches? Please? Or is that a pain in the butt?
It's nice when we don't have to convert them the whole time.
Thank you =)
It was a very different experience than I am used to. It was funny - the main art show is set up as a "silent auction" where people write in their bids. It ended at 6pm and at 5:45pm people were hovering around the paintings, eyeing eachother - it reminded me of how when I have auctions ending on eBay people wait until the last minute to "snipe" the bids!
Next year we need to bring more stuff, especially books and matted prints - but hey, now we know better =)
To be honest I'm not very familiar with centimeters/metric - we don't use them at all over here in the US. However there is a website right here:http://www.onlineconversion.com/length_common.htm
where you can type in a length in inches and it will automatically convert it to centimeters!
It was wonderful to meet you both at Dragon Con! Thanks for taking the time to chat with us, it was really nice. :) I LOVE the Wolfish Fiend canvas print I got from you too, it is so gorgeous!
Thank you Kelly!!!! It was fun!!!!
Next year we might be bringing some helpers/employees with us so we can get out and enjoy things a little more =)
