Wednesday (or was it Tuesday? I forget!) we got to take a break from this work and met up with waltzingdog and her family at Downtown Disney! I've known Wendy for years online, but this is the first time we met in person. She got to present me with THIS QUILT she did of my Azrael and Quan-Yin kitties - it is even more beautiful in person!
Wendy is a wonderful person and has a great family. She is exactly how I thought she would be. It was so nice to spend the evening with them - we ate at Rainforest Cafe and did a lot of shopping at Downtown Disney (hitting the Lego store pretty hard!). It was so great to have an evening off from work too, hehe!
All Matt & I have been doing is preparing for Dragon*Con and of course the usual daily work (orders, etc.) on top of that. It is getting so crazy around here, I don't know where my actual "life" has gone sometimes. Big stacks of papers, canvases, frames, paintings, boxes, etc. are everywhere. I think just about all of the supplies arrived on time (still waiting on one of the rotating wire racks, crossing my fingers, but if worse comes to worst I'll be able to manage without it).
Making all of the canvas prints is quite time consuming, each one I hand embellish, sign & number, and then paint with multiple coats of varnish. Then Matt takes them and stretches them on canvas stretcher boards, and then I write all the stuff on the back. Each one takes a long time to do, and we have about a hundred of them total. He's also matting a lot of open edition prints too.
Then there are the originals! Wow, I can't believe how many people have been emailing me about my original paintings, and why I haven't been posting as many, lol! Glad to be missed =) I have lots of new paintings, but as I stated previously - they are going with me to Dragon*Con. I am still painting, I'm not sick, I haven't died, hehe - I am still cranking out the art - I am just not yet putting them on eBay because first they are going to Dragon*Con with me. I will probably offer up some canvas prints of them though tomorrow, so you all can at least see what I've been up to ;) And if they are not purchased at the convention, I will put them up for sale online upon my return. There are some especially good ones, and they are all beautifully framed.
Sheesh, I had originally intended on trying to update my website before we leave for the Con, but now that seems so laughable, there is just no way, we are SO down-to-the-wire on time now. What was I thinking?? Don't worry, I will be doing a major update when I get back home, I have so many paintings to add and tons of stuff for my fans' section as well.
Not much else going on - we've just been working from sun-up until midnight, not very exciting.
Back to work I go!
