Hi everyone! |
We took Kachina, little Theodore & baby Eleanor to the airport a few hours ago - so they are on their way back home. I miss them already =( At least we had a good long visit. And I'll see them in a few weeks too =)
Poor Matty is SICK today. Everybody is sick - it's crazy! Stay away - we're contagious!
I have a big gorgeous new painting for you and also some links to a collector who has re-listed some of my mini paintings!
The big painting is truly one of my best - you're going to love it! Huge, crazily detailed (maybe my most detailed painting yet) and it is called "Peacock Queen." I've always loved peacocks - they seem like magical, fairy-ish birdies and are certainly beautiful. I've shown a majestic Queen with a pet peacock - you can see the peacock's influence in her dress - peacock & peacock feather motifs can be found throughout this Tudor-style portrait. Click below to see her...
(And yes, I wore my "Peacock Queen" BPAL perfume while I painted it, hehe!).
Also, one of my collectors has unfortunately had to re-sell some of my ORIGINAL mini paintings. Note - these are not my listings on eBay but I will happily confirm that these are indeed the original paintings, being sold by their original owner. As per usual, they are also listing them at "Buy-It-Now" $50 prices each. I'm not sure when I'll be able to paint any new mini paintings, so if you're in the market for some affordable mini paintings you might want to grab one of these while you can!!!
You can search their listings here:
Or to see each of the minis individually, click the links below.....
Black Winged Innocent
Daisies in Her Hair
Fairy with Pink Eyeshadow
Jealous Green Eyes
Stars in the Dark
A Sinister Flag Bearer
All righty - I'm off to rest up a bit. Tomorrow will be an email catch-up day, and maybe a start-a-new-painting day too.
RYN: Thanks for the webcam clarification, lol. Now I can view it without worrying that I will stumble upon something surprising. Most likely entertaining, but definitely surprising, lol.
Anywho, I love the Peacock Queen. I like how the facial features are different from the usual "cute and innocent" or "cute and evil" style. She seems painfully drained, but there is so much beauty in her. I can tell you put a lot of effort into detailing, and it is very apparent you did an excellent job. The feathers are very reflective of the painful beauty surrounding her, the blues to me symbolizing sadness, and greens, jealousy. Maybe I'm analyzing this too much, but then again, I analyze everything, lol. I'm always open and honest, and if I ever see something in your painting that I don't particulary like, I will tell you, because I can already tell you're open to constructive criticism. Not like I'm in any place to tell you how to paint (lol!), but I guess I am an offical fan now :)... so might as well voice my opinion. Take care, darling! - .m. (Maggie)
Thank you so much!! It makes me happy when people put a lot of thought into my paintings. I agree - the colours do give a sense of melancholy. They also match the peacock, hehe =)
