Lots of NEW ART & eBay stuff!!! [Jul. 8th, 2005|10:07 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
All righty!

I've got a bunch of new stuff on eBay!

***First off, IF any of you guys aren't yet eBay members, and are interested in joining or learning more about eBay (it's free, the only requirement is that you are at least 18 years old, and it's one of the only ways you can buy my original paintings and take advantage of my SALE prints!), please first click below:

Jasmine's eBay Link!

To register, click on the "register" link at the top of the page. Also check out the "Help" tab - it will answer all of your questions regarding eBay, how it works, about safety, how to join, etc. And I get a referral if you join after clicking that link, hehe!***

First of all, I have the new #01 Limited Edition Hand-Embellished Canvases...:

"Invoking the Eclipse" #01 Canvas Print

and

"Wicked, Tricksy and False" #01 Canvas Print

Then I have some great new tiny little MINI paintings! Click on the titles below to see them (hopefully they haven't sold already and you can grab one quick!):

"Bird Skull"

& "Blankly Pink"

& "Swampfly"

& "Golden Butterfly"

& "An Impish Glimpse"

And then I have some great SALE PRINTS!!!

To see them all together, click HERE!

Or individually, click on the titles below:

"Wicked, Tricksy & False" 8x10 print $10 and "Wicked, Tricksy & False" 12x16 print $20

Yay! I can see them! Beautiful. They turned out really well.

My publisher thinks that those "masterwork replicas" that that eBay store was selling of my art illegally, are actually just canvas transfers, and she is just lying about them being oil on canvas paintings.

Do you google your name to check if anyones site is illegally copying and selling your work?

It's rampant in China now, with their "art shops" that art on eBay is being downloaded, copied and sold all over the world.

Thank you very much!

That is just awful! I'd believe it though - I've seen a lot of copyright infringement pop up on eBay in the form of the alleged "masterpiece copy" factories out of Hong Kong/China. I wouldn't doubt that they are just painted-over canvas transfers. Heck, even my own canvas prints that I make are pretty close to looking like original paintings themselves! With printing technology nowadays, I'll bet a lot of people try to pass of prints as originals.

Oh yes, I keep an eye out all over the net for my own stuff, belive me! Also whenever anything suspicous pops up I typically get a lot of emails about it from fans and other artist friends who are online. And of course, I have a lawyer now who takes care of that stuff for me.

Did you take any kind of legal action against the place making illegal copies?

My publishers lawyers are handling it. I've been hearing a lot about the China knock-offs. Apparently, its about 60% of the countries income.

That's awful. I remember reading somewhere online about the "art students" who live at the painting factories and what deplorable conditions they work & live in too. A bad system all the way.

They also had a green one but can't remember which green one it was. And a blue one with the cross in the background. I may end up getting those soon. :D

The one hot topic near where I live had them but the one near my work didn't have them. Go figure! I guess it varies in stores?

I'll have to go check up at the mall myself, hehe! Yeah, some store locations get them in stock before others. They also tend to sell out fast. They'll probably go up on www.hottopic.com too eventually =)

Oh yes, we have 4 printers - my husband Matt works for me as a full-time printboy, hehe. There's no way I could use a printshop - I have too high of a volume and about 300 different images - it would get crazy!

For 12"x16" prints I'd suggest the Epson 2200 Wide Format - it'll do prints in the Super B 13"x19" size that'll last for 150 years. They're about $600-$700, but a great investment. They will make great canvas prints. Pretty much any new Wide Format printer will make good Super B sized prints - for my Open Editions I use an HP 9300 - I think it was $400 or so.

I'd really suggest making your own - it will give you control over quality and colour correction, you can print on demand without any minimum runs, etc. And the profit margin is incredibly higher. I buy the good inks & papers online in large quantities and some of them are also at Costco for cheap.

Actually, I'd like one of these....

44" wide - wow!
