Good morning!!!!!!! [Mar. 16th, 2005|10:01 am]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
The client for the large commissioned portrait has approved the painting (yay!) - I'm so happy that they like it!

I didn't take scans of it since it's so large (50 inches across!) and it's not going to be a published piece, so I took some shots of it with my digital camera. Now, I'm not the best photographer and some of the pics are a little skewed (I didn't the camera parallel to the painting, so they're kind of at an angle - the lines are all really straight, hehe!), but I thought I'd share some pics of it with all of you since I know many of you watched me paint!

Click on the cut link below to see! It is a portrait of a woman (the mother of the client who commissioned it) who is a book collector. The car in the photo at the top was one of her favourites so I included it in the portrait!

Pretty neat!!

I'm working on a new painting right now - a chocolate fairy! It makes me hungry every time I look at it!

Matt's painting the living room with its second coat - it is looking AWESOME - soooo much better than that awful powdery blue colour - it looks like a completely different room and looks great with our furniture!

All right - I'm going to go paint on my chocolate fairy - you can peek in on me HERE while I work!!!

Wow! Now that's a big painting! I love all the fairy tale details, and the cameo pictures including yourself are just inspired. And the little Alice in Wonderland, that's what I become when surrounded by books too.

Congratulations Jasmine, it's a wonderful portrait with really cool details! I really enjoyed watching you paint this. Aren't you glad you didn't have to paint on the book titles? lol

LOL! I almost thought about doing that, but then I decided that it would #1 - take forever, and #2 it might ruin it to add text - I'm very picky about seeing hand painted text incorporated into my artwork for some reason!

The Chocolate fairy is cute but I couldnot get a good look at her face the webcam goes clear than fuzzy. Well have a great day! Sharon P.S. Doctor said I cannot have chocolate anymore or cheese mirgranes had a bad one yesterday and I love chocolate especially if it is from Europe. Peeps too.

copyright

Was it because of me that you put in the disclaimer? I wanted to do the painting. I didn't copy any particular picture or painting of yours. I just painted the big eyes and small mouth because when you do it, it looks cute and I wanted my paintings to be cute too. Are you mad at me that I didn't ask permission before painting my picture? If it makes you feel any better, my painting turned out kinda crappy. I mean, its ok, at least I tried. But I don't think I'll ever become as good of an artist as you.
