The Bones in the Ground [Feb. 20th, 2005|05:21 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
...besides being one of the best songs ever written (by Robyn Hitchcock of course!), it's also the name of my new painting that I just finished!

It's a strange painting, but very cool. It's a little early in the day to auction her, so I'm sticking her in my eBay store at a fixed price (since I want to go lie down now, I'm not feeling well =P) - you can see her by clicking below....

"The Bones in the Ground"

Like on all of my paintings I put at fixed price in my store, she also has the new "Best Offer" option, so if anybody wants to put in their "best offer" (if it's just slightly out of budget at the current price) on any of my paintings, feel free - you never know........ ;)

I have decided to also go ahead and make her one of this week's SALE prints.......click below to see......

"The Bones in the Ground" 8"x10" SALE print

"The Bones in the Ground" 12"x16" SALE print

Enjoy! Thank you all for your well-wishes, I am feeling better, just not quite up to par. I'm going to try and relax the rest of the day =) G'night.

I love this! I really like how you can see the layers of the ground, and her little outfit it so sweet!
I can't believe you've got a painting as good as that done when you're not feeling all that great :)
Hope you feel better tomorrow!

Thank you very much! I'm very interested in paleontology, I wanted to somehow incorporate it into a painting, hehe.

ugh, a week before my income tax return

beeyoouteefull!!!!!

I agree that she looks like the little girl from "Voodoo in the Bayou" - so much so that I'd be willing to bet they are the same girl. And since the voodoo painting is my absolute favorite thing you've ever painted (with stiff competition from "Fall of Atlantis," "Red Riding Hood and the Wolf," and the two pirate paintings) well, I'm kinda fond of this one, to say the least.

But, uchk, rent week and I'm broke. I'd be ashamed to insult you with the "best offer" I could manage right now, but I'm sure hoping she's still around in a few weeks!

Re: ugh, a week before my income tax return

Yes indeed - it's based on the voodoo girl - if it's not her, it might be one of her sisters, lol.

Hehe, congratulations on snapping her up! I know that you will give her a good home =)

Thats a really unsettlingly good peice Jasmine-there is something about it that sits uneasily with your usual subject matter, and I like the juxtaposition.
I'm not sure if I'm convinced by the 'best offer' option-I get enough people trying to barter me down from my prices as it is, though it may prove to be the only way to sell my large mermaid pieces.
Anyway, I hope you are feeling better soon.

Thank you very much, David!!!

I'll have to try out the Best Offer to see if it's a good thing or a bad thing. It's good in a way since it offers a little flexibility but still gives the seller the "final say" in the matter. Eh, we'll see.

Oh yes, very different, but I saw you while you were painting it and I was really interested in what it will look like when it's done. Again, an awesome piece of work!
