o.0 woooow

MAN YOU ARE FAST!!
I saw you on your webcam when you started. Meanwhile I was working at my computer and doing other things, but forgot to close your webcam page. So when I wanted to go to bed, and was closing all the windows, I suddenly saw you were still painting, and you were almost done with it!!!
So funny, you started with a dark canvas, and ended up with a nice strangeling again... And it took you what? An hour or two? or three? Wow I wish I was that fast lol. It turned out beautifully. Hope this one will be seen in your book too.

greetings from Irrimiri

Re: o.0 woooow

Thank you!!!

I usually start out by painting the canvas a solid colour, usually whatever the base colour will be for the background. That gives me a smoother surface to paint on and it also guarantees that I won't accidentally have any white canvas spots showing through, which is a pet peeve of mine!

Re: o.0 woooow

yes ^_^, that's what I also use on my canvas. First a base-colour because it paints better. But that colour also forms the ambiance of the whole painting. Normally the colour shines hrough the layers of paint (unless you paint to thick of course lol). I somethimes paint on an orange background to get a 'warm-coloured' painting. It can look beautifully if you let the orange shine through at some places (and I also make use of structures sometimes). This is an example of a painting I made that way: http://www.bosillustraties.nl/weblog/juniper2klein.jpg

Re: o.0 woooow

Oh! You are more than welcome to add me =) I don't really add-on to my friends list myself, I do most of my LiveJournal chatting here in my own journal. Otherwise I'd be just too overwhelmed and wouldn't have time to paint, hehe!

Speaking of which, off to work!!!
