LOL! [Jan. 28th, 2005|11:37 am]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
There are half a dozen giant wild turkeys right around my front porch, and Quan-Yin is at the window growling like she wants to attack them. They're each about 10x as big as she is, LOL!

Wild turkeys?!?! It's amazing how different the wildlife is in Florida from one area to the other. I guess it's because the state is so big.

They're crawling all over town, hehe. We're right up next to a protected wetland, so we get a lot of turkeys, deer, feral hogs, etc. Wild turkeys are so strange - they look like a pack of small dinosaurs, lol.

They're all over the darned place, hehe! Lots of animals here. We get those feral hogs too - they get about 5 feet long, with big tusks!

hahaha...you should go take a pic of that! The only animals I get around my house are my neighbor's cats who like to poo in my garden and some baby squirrels and raccoons.

They're a little different than the type of turkeys they raise on farms - more "preshistoric" looking. Kind of like dinosaurs almost, not as many feathers or as fat as a regular turkey, and they have long scaley legs. They're a little creepy sometimes - they go about in herds of 6-12 and aren't afraid of people at all.

Sometimes we get about six or seven wild turkeys in our back yard. We have had as many as six deer eating white acorns in the front yard.

=) Hehe, that's because I always forget to eat when I work! I sometimes don't eat anything all day until after midnight, when I'm finally done with everything, lol. Part of Matt's job is making sure I remember to eat and drink, hehe!
