Good morning! [Jan. 26th, 2005|11:59 am]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
I'm preparing to paint!

I've cut another giant canvas - a big 24"x30" - that's pretty much the largest I can work with on my current art desk. It's going to be called "White Witch of the Storm", featuring Szepasszony, of Hungarian legend. If it ends up looking anything like it does in my head, it ought to be darned cool.....

Might take me a few minutes to get started (got to get the canvas situated) but you'll be able to watch me HERE as always! Since it's so large, it's kind of hard to keep the camera pointed at the section I'm working on at all times, hehe, but I'll try my best >^__^<

Not very stormy outside though, hehe - It's a beautiful day - and the 10 day forecast calls for 70-75 degree weather all week, so it looks like we'll get to have our windows open with no airconditioning needed - I always like fresh air better. Supposed to get some thunderstorms in a few days though, which is cool.

All right - I'll be painting - I'll try to catch up on some emails & LJ comments later on too >^__^<

::EDIT:: 12:29pm
LOL! As soon as I start painting, the stormclouds rolled in! Szepasszony!!!

OOh that sounds pretty awesome + fun to do! Do you just buy rolls of canvas? I was just wondering if you roll them when you send them out or keep them flat. I had one guy drive me crazy..he didn't want it rolled, he wanted it flat in plastic, in a box in another box! LOL! I think it seems so much easier to roll them when you are working with large canvas. Well good luck that should be quite a feat being so huge and all! ~

Yep - I buy big rolls of acrylic-gessoed cotton canvas up at MisterArt.com

I always roll up anything larger than a 9"x12". It's much, much safer that way! My paintings don't have any impasto (I paint in very thin layers leaving the surface smooth) so there's no danger of damaging the paint, and I only use cotton canvases so they roll and unroll perfectly.
