New Painting!!! Elf Maiden and Her Dragon! [Jan. 10th, 2005|09:18 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
New Painting!

I've finished it - I decided to go with red, and I'm glad I did - it is very striking! I don't typically use a lot of red, but I like how this one turned out!

Click below to see her.....

"Elf Maiden and Her Dragon"

I tried to paint a very non-threatening dragon, lol, so it would look like a little elf girl's pet.

Enjoy!

I'm off to enjoy some Jonathan Strange.........

Thank you! I'm glad I went with red after all! I was going to go with green, but at the last minute I changed my mind, hehe.

Thank you, Deanna! It had been a while since I painted a dragon. I used to paint them a lot when I was in school, but I haven't for a loooong time!

She's beautiful. I love the dragon's scales and the glass-type beads in her hair.

So cute!! Red is rarely a first choice for me, but I agree with you, it's very striking here!! She's so adorable and I love the colored highlights in her hair.

I'm always happy to hear that! ((Much nicer than "Man, Jasmine - your work is really going down hill" or "Each piece you do is worse than the last! - LOL!)

Thank you, Jasmine! I think it's just that I normally have such an affinity for green and I often do so many natural or swampy lush scenes, red doesn't come up a whole lot.

Precious!!!! And he doens't scare me one bit!! LOL!!
I'm up late (again) drawing more dragons meself ~ I just took a break from #4. Must be something in the water... tis the season for dragons...?

It's a lovely piece!

But I'm still *in♥love* with Queen Mab. Sigh. She is so REGAL.

Have a lovely evening, sweetie...

Red...

LOL!!! I *just* read the other comments... I know! I know why you used red (giggle) (just having just acquired a 6-cartridge printer meself)... I'll bet you have a surplus of spare magenta cartridges laying about gathering dust...? :-)

I checked out the ink sets at Costco - seems the best way for me to buy colors is in the whole 6-pack... then supplement occasionally with those I don't use as much... (that's why I tweaked to all the "red!" comments...)

Nitey-O! LOL!!
