Apartment stuff

I was awakened this morning (a good thing too - it was almost 10:00am!) by the Celebration Apartments calling to let me know that they had one of the "B" floorplans (the smaller of the one bedroom floorplans) available on March 1st. Since it had a bunch of the premiums (the "extras" that cost more money - Corner Apartment, Private Elevator, Market Street location, etc.) the rent was $815/month, which is the same price of the standard "A" floorplan (the larger of the one bedrooms).

I really think that we need the larger floorplan (it's 100 sq ft larger than the B floorplan, and about TWICE the size of our current apartment), and since we really don't need the extra premiums (I'd rather pay $815 for the larger place without the elevator, lol) I told them that we would pass on the apartment. There were other people on the waiting list after us, so one of them will take it. We will just continue waiting for the larger floorplan instead. Since we are expecting to have lots of visitors and since I work out of my home studio I would really like the extra space. My kitties would too, I'm sure.

Hopefully there will be one available soon. I really should have taken the "A" floorplan they called me about last month (that was availabe this February). That was before we decided we could afford that size though, lol. The leasing agents must think that we are flaky!

Kachina and I created the "A" Floorplan in The Sims (hehe, we're silly girls) and had a grand time arranging furniture. Sim Jasmine and Sim Matt seemed to really like it. So did Sim Azrael and Sim Quan-Yin ("Sims Unleashed" has pets!).

Since the larger floorplan has a "Dining Room" area, we figured that we could use that space for the computers so we wouldn't have to have them taking up space in the living room. We're not dining room type people, and the kitchen has one of those bar like counters for barstools if we really want to eat at a table. The kitchen is twice as large in the "A" floorplan as well - that will be nice.

I painted a mermaid exploring a ship-wreck yesterday. I'll post a pic of it later. I like painting underwater scenes, it's very different than painting above ground. I painted in a little skull partially submerged in the sand too - it gives it a nice pirate-y feel to it. I want to do some more pirate-y artwork - it makes me think about The Pirates of the Caribbean ride, and the Renaissance Festival, and Peter Pan, and other happy pirate things. I'm getting ready to start another painting (I need to get one commission finished this weekend too!) - I'm thinking about an underwater shipwreck scene replete with pirate skeletons and soggy treasure. We'll see.
