Good morning, all! [Dec. 3rd, 2004|11:14 am]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
Let me see - we've had a crazy time of it lately - lots of fun! We definitely needed a short break, so Wednesday afternoon after we got some work done we went and stayed at Disney's Caribbean Beach resort. I spent most of the afternoon lying on a hammock reading and drinking Pina Coladas and Rum Runners, hehe. We had dinner at Shutter's (a very good restaurant there) and had incredibly yummy food - breads with various dips (roasted garlic, a hummus/red pepper dip, and a curried vegetable dip), vegetarian black bean soup, heirloom tomato salad, and then Matt had fettucine with yellow-tomato marinar and seasonal veggies and I had a Calypso Tofu with somen noodles. Man, that was some good food. We spent some quality time relaxing at the neat hot tub they have there, and then the next morning we got up and went to Typhoon Lagoon and had a wonderful time there. And after THAT we went to Downtown Disney and played at DisneyQuest and then went and had dinner at Wolfgang Puck's, and then went and saw "Alexander" at the movies (I thought it was very good). How much fun can one squeeze into a 1.5 day trip? Not bad!

Now of course, I'm back here working double time playing catch up, lol. Lots of exciting things going on - a couple of new projects that I might be involved in ;) I also got a confirmation that I've got buttons now in some Hot Topic stores, so those of you who have them close by might want to go take a peek, hehe. There are more products to come =)

Twilight Reflections has a nice long interview with me HERE! I designed a logo for them (some of you might know her as "A Little Batty", but she was originally a commissioned logo for their website!).

Let me see..... what else is going on....

I've got some commissions to work on, as usual, and I'm getting ready to start on some new original paintings! I think it's time for another Gothling....we'll see... you can peek in on me HERE as usual!!!

Sticking the paint brush in your mouth, eh? *lol* ^~ I've done that before. Well.. blending with my fingers and then forgetting and biting my nails or rubbing my eyes. I thank whomever everyday that the paint is non toxic =) Great interview :)

Re: I'm Jealous!

Hi Lita! We did have a lot of fun, hehe - kind of hard to get back into "work mode", but that's how it goes (gotta pay for all of the fun stuff I guess, lol!).

BAAAAAAAHHAAAHHHHAA HA!! I was reading the interview, and I swear I have said the same thing about the 4th of July and blowing things up. The only difference is I would have said "After we move all of the old cars off the lawn..." LOL

That was a nice long interview! Batty looks quite at home there!

That's really nice that you allowed yourself a little time off! I'm sure you needed it like 6 months ago;)

Re: Sheesh.

Hello Amanda!!! Very pleased to meet you - welcome to my Journal!!!

Let me see - I did a piece called "Mardi Gras Masquerade" here: http://www.strangeling.com/mardigrasmasquerade.html - I'll probably be doing more along those lines as Mardi Gras approaches next year =) (I'm also actually planning an EA Poe tribute piece soon.... I'm a big fan!)

Short day trips are often the best. It's good to know you had some time off and had fun!!!
I love how you always post about food in your posts, I don't know why but I love hearing what other people eat. :-)
I really want to make some Rum cocktails this Christmas season, we have Pirate parties at my house. LOL

I enjoyed reading your interview. That was really good! Were you afraid you'd sound stupid or say something dumb? I would be! But you handled it perfectly!

Lol, yeah - I kind of feel silly when I do interviews - I always either worry about sounding extra dorky or way too self-important (especially talking about my "art", hehe).
