....because he IS the Kwisatz Haderach! [Nov. 26th, 2004|12:39 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
I swear, I'm still full from yesterday!!! Aaahhh!

As usual, I drastically over-estimated our Thanksgiving meal, lol. Too much food for two people! The Un-Turkey we bought was a 7 lb one, which was about 10x as much as we needed, hehe. Sounds like we'll be having vegetarian-turkey sandwiches for awhile...... It was really good though. And then pies, veggies, potatoes, gravy, etc. all left over! I made a greenbean casserole with broccoli cheese soup instead of cream of mushroom, and it was really good. Matt even liked it (previously he hated greenbean casserole, so I'm glad I found a way to make it that he enjoyed). I made cranberry sauce from scratch, and it turned out surprisingly well too - I put a lime juice in it and that was extra yummy.

It was Matt's birthday of course too, yesterday - thank you all for the birthday greetings! We lazed around and ate and watched movies all day. We watched "Dune" (the original David Lynch one - one of my favourites!), and "Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger" (Walrus Giganticus!), and "Ravenous" (which I'd never seen, but I really liked - it was hilarious!), and I forget what else. We made a big fire in our fire pit outside too - that was fun.

Now though, it's back to work! My %&#*@ hair-dryer (which of course I use as my paint-dryer) finally went kaputt this morning =P So I went to Walgreen's to get a replacement. It's a lot smaller, which is better - the old one was ancient and bulky. So now I'm getting ready to work on my Christmassy painting - it's going to be a cozy indoor scene reminiscent of my Fairy Dwelling series, with a little fairy family inside with holiday stuff. Ought to be pretty cute =) I have another winter themed painting planned too, but I haven't started it yet. It's a really weird painting that will have an abominable snowman/yeti/walrus guy in it, and the maiden who is in love with him, I think. Probably one of those paintings that only I and a couple of other people will appreciate, lol, but that's okay =P Wow, I've mentioned walruses twice in this post, that's got to be a record.

Enough with the rambling, I'm off to paint! You can watch me HERE on my webcam!

Oh yes - I will definitely be running a ton of print sales very soon since holiday-shopping season officially starts today, hehe. Keep an eye out ;)

....because he IS the Kwisatz Haderach! I'm confused! Is this something everyone knows and I really am as lame as I think? Ok, don't let Matt answer that! Can I come over for leftovers!

Hehehe, it's the last sentence uttered in the movie "Dune" - most people probably wouldn't get that, don't feel lame! ;P

Sure! Come over around two! ;P

You could convert me into a vegetarian easily! If I had a (good) cook, I'd be happy to go healthy! Your feast sounds so delish! You two are true best friends, you sure get along so well =)

Ok I suppose I ought to paint too (thanks for setting a good example :p )

R and I did EXACTLY the same thing. Plus we made our own stuffing and gravy too! But our unturkey turned out really chewy, so I guess we will have lots of very chewy sandwiches for the next week. ;P

The best thing about making too much food is the left overs and not having to cook for a little while. Sounds like you had a good thanksgiving.
