Well now..... [Sep. 25th, 2004|10:01 am]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
It looks like Hurricane Jeanne (which is mysteriously pronounced "Jean") is coming to visit us sometime tomorrow afternoon. She should only be a category 1 hurricane by then, which isn't too bad. I mean, a hurricane is a hurricane, but this one isn't so tough. We'll see. People are getting so blasé about hurricanes around here, since there have been so many, with so much hype this year, lol.

We'll probably get some supplies (ie, snacks) at the store, and get out the wet-dry vac in case we get any water in the house, but other than that, we'll just be business as usual =)

I'm working on a small commission - I'll probably be finished with her soon! After that I'll start working on some new originals!! You can watch me HERE!

Hehe, that we are! Mostly hunkering down for us means buying lots of junk food and putting the patio furniture in the garage, lol.

Take care! It may be a low category, but it has been reported to have caused over a thousand deaths in Jamaica. Compared to category 5 hurricane Ivan that killed only (and I use the term loosely) 11 people.

You and kaokame will be in my thoughts.

Ivan killed at least 37 on his trek through the Carribean (last I found reported on ABC.com) and I think it was Haiti where the flooding from Jeanne killed a thousand+ people. But still not a storm to be flippant about, definitely.

I'm Sick and Tired of Hurricanes!!!

This is what, the 5th hurricane? The weather has something against ya'll downthere. Ivan is circling around so we are going to get more rain...which really sucks because the fair is here.

Ya'll stay safe! Hugs,
Jesse

Hmm, how else would you pronounce it? I haven't heard anyone say anything other than "jean" so I'm curious!

Have fun buying the snacks! :) We're going to my parents' house again for a hurricane sleepover party and I'm hoping my dad grills up some burgers and stuff!

My hubby keeps saying "Jeannie" - he works with someone who name is pronounced Jeannie but spelled Jeanne.

I saw that Jeane is heading for you guys as a 3 now - and I thought back to what Matt said about your house slowing it down before it got to me - LOL!!

Cool painting! can't wait to see this one, too!

I realize - I forgot to ask you to sign my print :-(

Nooo! I'm sorry!! If you want to send it back I would be happy to sign it for you! (Or when you come visit me someday, hehe!!) In the future would you like me to automatically sign all of your prints?

I was watching the weather channel this morning, I think they said something about a possibility of it strengthening more before land fall in Florida, lets hope not! I would be packing up to move by now if I lived there.. some place nice and inland he he

Àww, I am so sorry to hear about yet another one. Don't let it get you down, you survived the others pretty well so this one should be easier to get thru. Take care.
