I'm painting!!!! [Jul. 27th, 2004|11:49 am]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
I'm painting!! You can watch me HERE!

I have a million emails and LJ comments I need to get to, but I really feel like doing some painting first =)

As per a conversation I had with novemberhour in a bookstore in Kansas City a few weeks ago, I'm doing a painting with a labyrinth/maze in it.... it's a real maze I designed myself and I think it'll be a fun painting! I've laboriously drawn it out in watercolour pencil first, but I'm getting ready to go in there and paint it in right now! I've always had a fascination with mazes in art - my dad had the coolest book of mazes and my sisters and I used to look at it all the time - I'd love to do more of these if this turns out fun.

Off to work! I'll catch up on the emails & comments later tonight ;)

Labyrinths are fantastic! I look forward to seeing yours. I have a friend who runs an rp module online and he always implements puzzle mazes/labyrinths wherever he can fit 'em. Of course he also included one as a tribute to the mythological minotaur maze. Also, at a hospital I once worked at there was a labyrinth garden for the long-term patients to use as a meditative place. There's something about journeying towards the center of one that helps clear one's mind and bring things into perspective... in a way it's like magic, no? This'll be an exciting painting by you, I'm sure.

Aside: I haven't forgotten to send you my email order, but I wanted to ask if you could point me to a picture of your "Pensive Fairy." Not sure if it's under a different name in your gallery, but you have so many I couldn't find that one. Would like to see it.

Have a good one,

Angelique

How very cool!!! I always dream about some day owning an enormous estate with a full-scale hedge maze.....

Oh yes! My Pensive Fairy can be seen here:

She's not on my website since she's not for sale as a print (she was a tiny little painting and wasn't big enough even for an 8x10) - she'll be on some of my merchandise though ;)

This one looks good too...Oh Gosh....

Jasmine, I love your work, but I only have so much money, that why it is hard to pick prints after your paintings are done, I wish I was rich and would buy them all! I sent you an e-mail about my order I changed it sorry but starry fairy is a must it matches my fairy in the window. Sharon. You should do a book of your best paintings.
