Man, I am working on an original 24"x30" painting - that is SO BIG! Lol, my art table is only 30" across vertically, and it's a vertically aligned painting so I keep getting paint on me when I lean close, lol. This thing is huge - for somebody like me at least who typically just works on 8"x10"s and 12"x16"s!!! When I'm through I'm going to put it in my eBay store - it's going to be so cool!!!!!!|
::Back to work::
Big paintings usually mean lots of characters! 24"x30" is huge when you do so much detail! I can't wait!!
I think on this one I'll have one primary character....we'll see.....
Oooh! I can't wait to see!
When I did Luke's Quilt recently, it was larger than most I do - I had to come up with new bits of technique - like remembering to roll up the edges when embroidering - it was so heavy and there was so much "drag" otherwise!
Hehe, yeah - I'll probably have to roll it up at the bottom when I paint the top part in detail - I stood up for the layout phase, but once I get to finishing I'll probably want to sit!
Wow, I did a 24"x36" painting, thats 2X3 Feet, so yours must be pretty big! Is this painting going to be on sale on ebay, or is it for somthing esle?, becasue I cant wait to see it*grin*
It's not for a commission or anything, but since it's so big I'll probably put it in my eBay store at a fixed price rather than auctioning it.
Hehe, but first I need to finish it!
Just curious . . .is it a canvas panel or stretched canvas or . . .whatever? LOL. That is huge. =) Happy painting, and I'm excited to see it! =D It will be neat to see how much it sells for since it's so big!!
It's the same kind of canvas sheeting I always use - I just cut a much bigger piece! That way I can ship it rolled =)
Typically I base my store prices loosely on my commission prices, so for a 24"x30" I would normally charge about $1200 on a custom basis, but since this is just an original and only contains one figure I'll probably set the price at $800 or so.
Oh, cool deal. I meant it'd be neat to see how it'd turn out if you just allowed people to bid. LOL. $800 sounds like a fair price, though. =)
Wow, that seems huge! Is that what I see on your cam right now? It looks very beautiful.
A very, very sharp razor, cut along the grain, with a heavy canvas that's already been primed. And then gesso it again after it's been cut, and there should be no frays!

Can I Please use one of your paintings as a background on my website?
I was wondering and hoping if you would let me use your eyes of blood painting as a background? And i also want to say that i love your paintings and if i had enough money to buy some i would. but i have to go and work on my own paintings.
