New Paintings!!! (And PRINT SALE!) [Jul. 11th, 2004|08:28 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
All right!!!

I've got both of my Aesop's Fables paintings finished!!!!

The first one, illustrating "The Widow and her Little Maidens", is up for auction and can be seen here:

"The Little Maidens"

The second, illustrating "The Fox and the Monkey", is in my eBay store and can be seen here:

"The Fox and the Monkey"

These of course are going to appear in a book of Aesop's Fables, so they are very unique paintings!

In addition, I have a bunch of my new paintings on sale as prints! Only $10.00 for the 8"x10" prints, and $20.00 for the 12"x16" prints! "Spearmint Sprite", "Cinderella's Carriage", "Murder Most Foul", "Living Doll", and "Biomechanical Fairy" are all on SALE!

You can see them all here:

Jasmine's SALE prints!

Enjoy!

Oh the fox is my favorite, you do such great red foxes! Years ago I raised two baby foxes that were found by a guy in the woods..I assumed their mother was killed by hunters...But when they got old enough to be on their own I released them and It was heartbreaking to do.. that must be why I am so fond of your fox pictures..

Hi Erin!

Ah, sorry I can't help there - I didn't have mine made, they are YuJean Stickems (TM) which are produced by one of the merchandise companies that have contracts with me =) They licensed my images for stickers and a bunch of other things, and they wholesale to thousands of retail stores (for which I get royalties). I also get to sell them myself as part of my contract, so I get them "at cost" very cheaply too.

I'm not really sure about how to have them made for yourself - I know some people use CafePress - I think they have stickers now, and Zazzle.com might too.

I understand that= I am hoping to start the ball rolling getting some of my stuff licensed. And remember I told you I talked to Hot Topic and they told me I had to have my own stuff made and then they would purchase it-something like that. I thought I would start with stickers.

That seems odd that they'd want you actually get the merchandise made yourself, rather than licensing it! I'd be suspicious of anybody wanting you to have to spend any of your own money up front to produce something!

Before doing something like that, if I were you I'd search online or in stores selling stuff you like, write down the names of the companies and brands written on products you like. Then go online and search for the companies' websites, email them and ask if they are interested in licensing new artists! You never know!

I love how you managed to take such a specific subject matter and paint something that is totally your style (the mark of a true artist)! And I love your animals, that monkey is the cutest thing!
