Storm's a-brewin'............. [Jun. 28th, 2004|07:20 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
A storm is brewing up above - the temperature's dropped about 20 degrees and it's getting blustery and thundering.... exciting!!!!

Let me see... I worked on some sketches for a couple of commissioned portraits, finished painting yet another commissioned portrait, and now I'm ready to take a break from that and, um, paint.......

I'm working on an original I started a few days ago - it's a cute little thing, kind of along the lines of Peppermint Pretty, but more green. Maybe spearmint, lol.

You can watch me paint HERE!

Later on I'll be dyeing my hair, I'm getting those pesky blonde roots again =P

I need to work on some more Aesop's Fables paintings too - the deadline is coming up! I also want to do some more pirate art, and maybe a new piece in my Alice series. I'll probably bring a sketchbook along with me on my trip so I can jot things down and make doodles as they come. I also want to do some more realistic-type paintings and dig into the piles of photos I received from my Call For Models awhile back!

Okay, enough rambling - off to paint!

Oh I love a thunderstorm!!!! All we've gotten here today has been rain. No thunder, no lightning, no wind, just plain old boring rain. :(

Did you say Green!!!!! Yikes, I'll have to hide this one from K.C. She loves when you use Green!!!! She thinks she needs to own every one of your Green paintings. :) She's swooning over you Murder Most Foul right now!!!

Ooo, I love that kind of weather. It's just been raining here. I wish there was some lightning and thunder!

Your painting is looking so cute right now!

Hmm, you have blond hair? I'm not sure I knew that! I want to see pictures! lol!!

Yup, naturally blonde, which is kind of annoying since I try to keep it all blue-black, and it grows pretty fast =P

Here's a picture of me from when I was a teenager, hehe - back before I ever started colouring it: http://www.strangeling.com/jasmineblonde.jpg

Oh my gosh!! Look at that hair!!

My hair use to be blond, but then about a year ago, I dyed it dark brown, and it's been brown ever since. It's so weird that no blond roots have come through (and it has been growing!) I don't know what is making it stay dark. It's even starting to turn red now! In the sunlight it's really red.

Wow . .. you're gorgeous as a blond too . . . and here I was thinking you were naturally dark-haired and envying you. =P LOL. I started dying my hair dark brown in high school and was born blond (ek). Your hair seems so full . .. . how do you keep it that way if you dye it? What kind of dye do you use? It seems like my hair falls out a lot more than it should whenever I dye it, so I stopped. Now I've got pesky blondish brownish reddish roots that are about 24 inches long! =P

Hi Amanda! (Lol - I'm so far behind on my LJ comments, hehe!)

I use Feria's "Starry Night" dye - I like it a lot! Black with a blue sheen. I have so much %&*@ hair, I probably wouldn't notice if half of it fell out, lol. I always use the special shampoos and conditioners for colour treated hair though, so that keeps breakage to a minimum!

WOW!!! Your skin goes so well with black hair that I thought it was natural, but you also look good as a blonde..Is it just me or does she look like she has mermaid hair as a blonde??...Hey Jasmine, would you care if I tried to paint you as a mermaid with blonde hair??

I havent finished my Aesop's paintings either. I havent heard anything about it at all have you? You would think that they would send you a reminder or something. I have a feeling that they will prolong the deadline. I'm kinda hoping that they will for my sake!LOL. I could finish in time probably, but it would be nice if I had a few more days. I shoulda started earlier. Procrastinator!

Have you been keeping up at the message boards? At http://www.ebsqart.com in the forums, under "group projects and collaborations" there is a big 20+ page discussion where we're all keeping each other posted!

::grumble:: it rains everywhere else in Florida but Pembroke Pines for some odd reason :-/ I miss the rain!

I still haven't found a place for the silvery mermaid sticker! She's too pretty to waste on someplace dull...
