Is Kinkade saying anything useful? LOL! :P (<--- not a fan of his art, but definitely of his marketing strategies.)
Wow - yeah, I guess some technological buzz words still aren't as mainstream as I thought they were. ^_^ But then again - most stuff I know about computers, the internet & websites, my parents find hard to grasp and it all goes straight over my grandparents' heads. ^_^
<---is jealous that you have a house - have to talk to the SO tonight about getting seriously down and dirty in the next year or 2 for long-range goals and plans.
Naw, he's just hawking his wares, lol. I was keeping track while they were selling and he did over a million dollars in sales in that short half-hour guest spot.
Hehe, I'm with you - I'm much more impressed with him as a businessman than I am as an artist, but that's just personal taste I suppose. If you've seen one cozy cabin, you've seen them all... but I'm sure a lot of people say that about faeries too, lol.
I reccommend getting home depot card!! That way you can take advantage of their one year or 6 mos (whatever it is currently)free financing---Buy whatever it is you need and dont worry about having to have all the cash up front...because the nice ceiling fans run about $200 a piece!! (GEt the ones with the remotes--Helps when you have high ceilings--dont have to have a string hangin down)
We got lucky as far as window coverings go!! WE were able to have the builder roll that into our mortage--Other wise it would have cost me another $2600 to cover all my windows!! ACK!!!
Houses are so much money but so worth it!!
Thought of any colors you are going to paint yet?
Remotes? That's very cool! I might do that - we've got big tall ceilings!!!
We're thinking a sagey green colour to cover up the blue living room, and then the same dark tan that we had in our last place for the master bedroom. The kitchen is already a gorgeous dark terra cotta colour, so we're keeping that the same! I'm not sure about the other rooms - I'll probably want to give some of the walls murals, etc.....
OOoh you know what would be COOL Muralled?
If I remember correctly?..you have a small like 1/2 bath downstairs?..YOu could Mural THAT!!!!(For a start..heh heh)..Small Bathrooms that are heavily muraled are always SOOOOOO COOOOOL!!!
I did (in my last house) an underwater scene with Frogs and Fishies..And On the ceiling I painted lily pads like you were completely underwater...It was so FUN!!! :o)
I can only imagine what you could think of!!!
I always wanted to do a Japanese themed bathroom with those Cherry blossom Bonsai style/shaped trees...Cranes...Maybe some cool Bridges and such ...THAT would be AwesomeI think...LOL...Dont mind me I love decorating...LOL..I'll talk your ear off!!!
By the way - if you'd like help painting your townhouse, I'd be glad to help. :) Just let me know when, and hand me a roller!
Hehe, we might actually need your help - we'll probably try to tackle it in a few weeks!
Just let me know, I'd love to help! (This way I can say I painted with the famous Jasmine! :)
For the windows - Jim and Jan Trojan are the names, and I believe their numbers are:
Tell 'em I referred ya, 'cos he did mine and my parents' condo! And if those numbers don't work for any reason, let me know and I'll dig up the paperwork they gave me back then, in case they have different numbers!
JASMINE- FIRST OF ALL CONGRADULATIONS ON YOUR MOVE. 2ND CONGRADULATIONS ON ALL OF THE WONDERFUL THINGS GOING YOUR WAY. YOU DESERVE IT ALL. YOU ARE VERY HARD WORKING AND ORGANIZED.
I WAS WONDERING HOW YOU KEEP YOUR PALLET WET- LOOKS LIKE YOU RE-USE THE SAME ONE SOMETIMES THE NEXT DAY.
I AM SOON GETTING READY TO BUY AN ORIGINAL. THANKS FOR LETTING YOUR CREATIVITY ON YOUR PAINTCAM AND CANVAS....
Thank you so much Kim!!!
Actually, I use the same palettes but the paint dries within an hour, so I just add new paint on top! (I don't like being wasteful, so I try to get multiple uses out of the same palette - actually just plastic or paper plates!). That's with acrylics though - if you use oil paints you can actually put plastic wrap over your palette and it will keep your paint fresh for days, or even weeks!
What kind of blinds are you thinking about getting?
I recently got a junk mail magazine full of blinds. LOL. They actually have very pretty wooden ones! =) The ones that interested me most were the honeycomb blinds. They're the best insulating . . . keep ya warm in the winter and cool in the summer. They even come in three different levels! =) I think I read that the triple layer ones stop at least 75% of energy transfer, so they save money and help the environment! =)
Okay, enough with the infomercial attitude . . . I get WAY to excited about things sometimes . .. I sound like an ad, really. LOL
We'll probably get some cheap-o ones right away, just to cover them up for a few weeks, but we'd like to get some custom wood blinds - my friend foxmagic
's going to give us the number of the guy who did his house (he's got big, hard to reach unusual windows and they did a great job!).
I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO KNOW WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT MY PAINTING. I AM NOT A PAINTER- I MESS AROUND WITH A LOT OF THINGS. SCULPTING ETC.. WHAT EVER I CAN GET INTO TROUBLE WITH. I HAVE MAINLY BEEN A TEDDY BEAR MAKER FOR THE LAST 20 YEARS. I STARTED WHEN I WAS 18. YIKES!!!!

Agreed, he is one of the most shameless self promoters on the planet. Not to mention he has to sprinkle his two-bit christian beliefs at you through the TV every five seconds. He is anything but humble.
Same here, I worked at "Deck the Walls" and we sold his art all the time. I swear I have framed over 100 of his pieces. His art bores me to death.
Yep, I sure did, it was part time. Then I started working at Michael's which eventually turned into a full time job. =)
I started working at Deck the Walls about 8 years ago, I think I was making $6.00 an hour. I was only part time since I had a day job. I started working at Michael's maybe a year after that and I think they gave me $6.50. I had both of these jobs while I was working as a Dental Technician during the weekdays. Michael's eventually offered me a Supervisor position at the frame shop and they gave me $10.00 an hour along with huge amounts of responsibility.
This was all a long time ago back in Kansas City. I haven't worked for Michael's in years. Now we live in Florida and I have a Dental Assisting job here in town. I am not sure how much the average framer makes, but whatever it is they should probably make more.
you know my step dad has his own tile business, and he is an artist as will he makes these great tile mosaics , he made this Palm tree table top on a hand made wooden table frame for my mother and he does just about anything with tile, you know its not only for floors. He could make a lovely tile Mosaic table with fairies or really just about anything for your new house , he even does pool work , he just finished this turtle Mosaic for the bottom of these peoples pool ,it was really cool. You know he could give you some helpful info if you ever wanted to lay tile or make a Mosaic table from the ground up. love your work !!!! hope to see more living dolls!! (^_^)
That is very cool! I love mosaics - I've always wanted to learn how to do that (one of the millions of things I'd like to learn!!)
=PPPPPPPPPPP to kinkade-i see my efforts were lost on pouring turpentine on all his paintings and cutting off both hands of anyone who ever helps to create the art work of kinkade. that stuff is so not worth it. i mean,i am not against someone owning one or two carefully placed peices of his, like in the garage near the trash can, or in the bathroom above the toilet, but i mean, why does anyone feel the need to make a gallery of his work. it is so useless after one or two. AHHHH.
