Painting!!!! [Jun. 20th, 2004|11:42 am]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
I'm nearly finished on my latest painting - I love how it's turning out!

It started off as a person cradling a tiny faerie, but later on it changed into a person holding a doll whilst painting the face (and the doll looks like she's coming alive!). Kind of a weird painting, but I think it's pretty cool....

I'll probably start on another original after I finish this one. After that, it's commission time again! I've got FIVE commissioned paintings lined up to work on - eek!

We (or Matt, at least) are getting more and more unpacked! The more stuff we put away the bigger this place seems, which is very cool.

My back yard kicks so much arse - it's full of critters! We went out there at night and there were sticky treefrogs stuck all over the house and garage around the lights (presumably to eat moths or something). In the daytime the place is Lizard Central. There are also dozens of dragonflies at any given moment - I'll probably paint some soon. And there's this one plant with blue flowers on it that seems to be a magnet for bumblebees, which are really cute!

Okay, I'm off to paint - you can watch me HERE!

LOL, you're one of the few american people I know to use the word "arse"! I didn't think many people there used it, thought "ass" was more widely used.

Am watching you paint...love the paint cam! Can't wait to see it finished, looks wondeful! Give me a wave? LOL!

Thank you Steven!!!

Lol, I'm probably not a good example as far as American slang goes - my family grew up watching too many BBC comedies, so that's my main influence there, lol.

Heh, that was cool :) Liked the grin and the peace sign. Also saw you starting the newest one, first time I have seen how you do the backgrounds. Splodging the paint on then spreading it around with the brush and using the ultimate artistic tool...the hairdryer! LOL.

Warm wishes.

Frogs! LOL When I was in high school (more moons ago than I care to think about) we took a trip to Disney World. Our first night there, when we came back from the park, our hotel room was just filled with the critters! My roommates screamed like little girls while I, the perpetual tomboy, tried to catch them. It was great!!

When I was watching you first start that painting I thought it was a hand holding a doll. I can't wait to see it finished.

Hehe, we've got geckoes too - and other lizards, anoles, etc. The treefrogs are green and very, very slimey! I often pet them, and sometimes give them quick kisses! Lots of Southern Leopard Frogs too, and odd little toads of various sizes. I've seen the big 4lb Giant Cane Toads and big old Bull Frogs too - sometimes the size of a dinner plate!

I'm exactly the same way I say, "my dog shat on the carpet" or "kiss my arse" that way I feel I'm not swearing directly. LOL! Not to mention it sounds cooler that way! LOL- Haven't seen your new one I'll have to check it out!

Hehe, I agree - it's a tad bit classier to say "arse" than "ass" or "shite" than "shit", etc. Just a tad, hehe.

I haven't scanned in my new one yet (everybody commenting has been watching my webcam!) - but she'll be up this evening - I'll make a post once she is up!
