New house photos!!!!!! [Jun. 15th, 2004|11:14 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
As promised, I snapped a LOT of photos of my new house!!! These are mostly going to be of interest to my family, etc. who haven't gotten to see it yet, but everybody is welcome to peek!

For privacy purposes I'm not showing off any exterior shots of the house =P

There are a TON of photos, so I made a little gallery of them here: http://www.strangeling.com/newhouse.html

It might take a moment for them to load, so please be patient!

Today was a lot of fun - we woke up early and went with James, Kachina, and Theodore to go play mini golf at Pirate's Cove - a VERY cool pirate themed miniature golf course full of caves and piratey stuff. Along the course it tells you stories about Edward Teach and Anne Bonny, and all of the usual suspects - right up my alley! Then we went to Pizzeria Uno (which I'd never been to, but rather liked!). Afterwards we took them all back to the airport and they went back home to Kansas City =( We miss them already!!!!

The rest of the day we spent getting some furniture and boxes and stuff taken care of, but there is a lot left to do. In addition I've been trying to get a grasp on some of the email and orders that piled up while I was gone, and I'm working on a commissioned painting too. Aaah! Busy busy! I'll probably get to start on some new original paintings tomorrow or the next day, depending on when I finish the commission.

I love my new house so much - it feels so good to actually OWN it, lol. We've never had a yard, so that's extra exciting. Being here in Florida, there are TONS of anoles and geckos and other lizards and frogs etc. ALL OVER my yard - I'd estimate probably 50-100 lizards alone live in my yard, hehe. I looked at the patio from the window and saw a dozen of them sunning themselves. There are a ton of great tropical plants and flowers in the yard, which we'll keep for sure. There are a bunch of boring bushes and stuff that we'll probably take out when we begin landscaping though. Everything inside the house is so big and new - it's kind of intimidating - it feels too fancy for me or something, lol. The photos don't really do the place justice, but they should give you some idea! I'm so glad we were able to snag a place here in Celebration - the prices have been climbing up and up - it was one of the last ones here in our price range.

Okay - I'm completely beat - I'm off to bed! I'll check in tomorrow!

Hey, Your new place is awesome!! Cool pictures, I agree the blue is the only thing I would not have liked much, and amazing flowers in your yard, Canada kind of sucks in that respect. More space more stuff to acquire.

Your house is HUGE! I love all the detail sections like little nooks and crannies for some fun little corners =D A private toiled lol! So Matt can read all his comics in there and you don't have to bother him because you want to brush your teeth :) I love it I'm so very happy for you and Matt! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!

Oh man - I LOVE lizards! When I was a little girl I always read books about reptiles and amphibians, and did a bunch of school projects on them, etc. I can't believe how abundant they are down here - I see at least a couple from my desk right now out on the patio, lol. And then there were two of them, um, making love out on the steps, so hopefully that means that there are babies on the way....

I know you are really busy...take a moment every once and a while and take a deep breath. Everything is slowly coming together. And this should be yourlast move for a VERY long time. I always feel so badly when your family leave becauseiknowhow much you love having them there. Kachina looks awesome doesn't she?

Have sweet dreams...cant wait to see some more painting come up. waiting ever so patently for cinderella and thumbelina....

Oh man - I'm not going to move for YEARS - I love this place! I don't think I'll leave unless I have the kind of money to buy a bona fide mansion or something, lol.

It always feels so sad the day after my family members go home =( I miss everybody so much!!! I love having visitors! I especially miss my sisters, and of course little Theodore. We have a lot of baby stuff that stays here (crib, carseat, stroller, etc.) and I get sad when I see it - I think, "Oh! Where's Theo????". Kachina does look great! You'd never know she just popped out a baby, hehe - she's back into all of her old clothes!

Oh man - as soon as I finish this commission I'm looking forward to doing a TON of new artwork - I can't wait! (In fact, I'd better go work on that portrait now, lol).

Thank you Victoria!

I am in awe of the kitchen! It's so nice - it makes me feel fancy. It cracks me up to think that just a few years ago I didn't even have a kitchen and we had to do the dishes outside in a bucket, lol. We've come a long way.....
