Oops! [May. 14th, 2004|01:05 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
Last night instead of painting I accidentally went to the movies with Matt and saw Kill Bill Vol. 2 - oops! ;) I loved it, hehe!

This morning I sorted out more photos submitted for painting models - would you believe that so far I've literally gotten over 1,000 photos? I'm so excited! I have so many new models to paint, and it's all just a question of which ones to do first. Each photo I see puts new ideas in my head!

I have some errands to run today too =P But I will be painting on and off. I'll probably start on a couple of different pieces (lately I've been multi-tasking on two or three pieces at a time, it's kind of fun). I want to do a big piece with lots of types of faeries, and maybe goblins too. We'll see - I'll probably just start slapping paint down and I'll see what comes out....

I'll be working on and off throughout the day - you'll be able to of course peek over my shoulder HERE!

Re: Oops!

Hmm, well - I'd probably say that they were equally as good. Rather than two separate movies, they seem more like it's just one long movie that was split into two halves. Kind of like a miniseries or something!

Re: Oops!

Duh! That was a silly question! I knew they were the same movie, but it's good to know that it doesn't lose speed!

Re: Oops!

I liked it a lot - there wasn't as many be-headings though in the second half (which is either good or bad, depending on how you look at it). It really explains a lot and gives background info too, which was neat!

it was bad!!! BUT, there was the one scene that made up for it so i can say it was just as good as the first half even without a beheading spree :D

Hi John! David Carradine kicks ass!!!!

Sure! Send me all the photos you like - I don't have a lot of male photo references (it's true - generally when I paint male characters they ARE goblins, lol!).

LOL!!! I have met David many times at conventions...he is so cool...plus I am really into Kung Fu martial arts.

I love goblins...I will get them to you soon...the non-computer geek has to learn how to operate his scanner first...LOL.

Thanks for everything Jas! You are the best!

you need lots of boy models too. you should make eric a model...i like his crazy red hair-and daniel's big eyes.

ooh ooh, my friend came over and got to see my wedding dress on me last night and she was cracking up. I told her i wanted to dress up as cinderella for halloween now...it is such a fun and pretty dress...kind of ultra traditional but lots of sparklies...hurray. I cannot post pictures though until after wedding or else bradley might get to see it...and though we are married...we still want to have all the fun that everyone else always gets.

LOL, I hate it when that happens ;). Caysi owns, yet I have not yet watched, Kill Bill Volume 1.
Oh, by the way, you are almost correct about the way the movies 'fit together'. They actually made both parts of the movie at once, but due to length they litteraly cut it in half. :)
More useless movie knowlegde.

OPEN CALL for MODELS

Jasmine, hello.
I just want to know something about your open call for models, which are requirements for the photos? I mean, in what do you base to choose the models? because obviously you'll have to dismiss some of them... are you only looking for the prettier ones, or you are not only interested on beauty?
I'm asking this because I sent you a photo of mine and I really would like you to pick me, so I want to know what do you base on.
That's all.
Greetings!!

Re: OPEN CALL for MODELS

Hello!!!

Oh my - I just sort through them and if one of them strikes me or speaks to me, then I choose it! No requirements or criteria at all really - models of any size, race, age, etc. are welcome. I like non-traditional images of beauty especially.

Large, very clear photos (the larger the better!) are most likely to be selected. Photos that show the facial structure clearly (not too obscured by hair, glasses, hats, etc.) are more likely to be used.

I've received well over a thousand photos already, so even if I did one painting a day it would take me three years to get to them all, lol, so there's no guarantee it will happen any time soon, but feel free to send as many photos as you like!

If you have time to see another good movie you should go and see Troy. It's nearly 3 hours long, but it was awesome:)The one on one battles are amazing. I guess if you don't care for Homer, greek mythology, or Brad Pitt this movie would not be all that appealing for you, but if you do check it out:) Have a good one! Heather from FL

Hi Heather!

LOL - about 20 minutes ago I just told Matt that I wanted to go see it, hehe!

I like Brad Pitt, and I'm very very into history, Homer, Greek Mythology, archaeology, etc. etc. so it's right up my alley - I've got several books based on the Trojan War already!

Awesome! You should see it then:) I am kind of a romantic so I guess that's why the movie really grabbed me. If you do see it, i hope you enjoy it as much as I did:) Have fun. Heather
