Ahhh! [Mar. 12th, 2004|07:35 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
I finally got my T-Mobile Sidekick - and it is AWESOME! I've of course never had any sort of internet/cellphone device, so I am so very impressed! Full colour screen - the web browser worked with EVERY site I tried - eBay, google, LiveJournal, www.strangeling.com (lol!), etc. Too cool!!! I can't believe it's a full browser (everything but Javascript) that is the size of a bar of soap. I even downloaded AOL Mail onto it - it works just like it does on my computer! And the keyboard is big enough that I can "thumb-type" pretty quickly. It will be a perfect travelling companion for me, lol. It was well worth the money - it will give me so much peace of mind to have my internet & email with me while I'm away from home!!!

Okay - enough playing with that!!!! I'm getting ready to PAINT!

I'm working on a rust-coloured vaguely Renaissance-ish portrait (in theory, I might change it while I'm painting, lol) nude type painting. I'm just going to start slapping down the paint and see what comes out! You can watch me HERE!!!!!

I watch you paint alot and I can't seem to help noticing that you never make a mistake- you paint perfection!!
Everything just flows so smoothly from your brush.
Do you draw sketches before-hand, or is this just straight from your head? You really are SO talented!

Re: Perfection!

Hi Erin!!!

Thank you!!!

I don't really "sketch" other than just painting lightly first (like I'm doing now) on the canvas, hehe. Sometimes (like for a self-portrait) I take a photo to look at while I paint, or keep a small mirror handy. Otherwise, I just kind of start painting and hope it turns out nice!! I usually have a pretty good idea in my head what the finished product will look like.

That sounds awesome! Brock would never let me have one. He thinks I'm too addicted to the internet. And I don't even have a business for an excuse! (well, not yet!)

That idea for your new painting sounds really interesting!!!

Hi Elizabeth! (Boy, this is an old comment - lol - I'm so far behind!)

My "Sidekick" was just under $300, and the "unlimited internet service" is $29.99/month!

AH okay cool! Hehe... I can see how busy you are =) Hmm... the price isn't bad, the service is more than I would want to probably pay, but I assume it's a fairly fast speed? Good thing to write off as a business expence though ;)

Technically since it's a cell phone, hehe, it's dial-up!

But since all of the websites and email are re-formatted for a small display and re-sized, the actual amount of info transmitted isn't near as much as it would be on a normal computer, so it goes pretty quick! You can also "turn off graphics" if you're doing something really time-sensitive - that speeds it up VERY quickly!
