New painting!!!!!! [Mar. 3rd, 2004|10:52 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
I finished the butterfly painting!

It's called "Butterfly Charmer" and you can see her here:

"Butterfly Charmer"!!!!!!!!!!!!

She is so cute, and I felt like doing bright butterfly colours today.

Now though I have a nasty headache (I think probably because I had to wear my glasses today because of my stupid allergies), so I am going to go eat something and relax a little. I will get to all of my email and comments and stuff tomorrow, I promise ;)

I ADORE her! Hehe, I would like to know more about IBND.. I did a search for it to see the other artists, and now i am a bit confused as to what it is, lol. I recognize one artist but I have never seen them imitated... Although I never really look in too many other categories, so that may be why.

So I'm going to do my best to win this one, all of the butterflies are SO enchanting!

I hope your headache goes away :( Drink some tea and just relax ;) I had to wear my glasses today too and I have a headache that will not go away :P

Thank you Kayti!!! I hope you win!!!!!!!!!!

Hehe, I just got an invitation to joing IBND - it looks like a lot of the "big fish" on eBay were also invited. It's a real unofficial kind of thing, basically just the search tag, lol and I guess invitation only (started by an artist who was tired of getting copied probably, lol). I thought I'd try out the tag for awhile and see if it sends any hits my way (I'll look at it in Sellathon and see if it gets a lot of searches). Oh yes - I poke around the other genres a lot, and I think the abstract and stylized landscape artists get ripped off more than any other genres out there! A lot of people try to make a quick buck, and I suppose geometric abstractions or colour-theory based compositions would be easier for a person like that to try to emulate (since all of the thinking and layout has been done by the original artist!!).

Ah, tea sounds very nice! I think I'll go fix me some =)

G'night!

Ahhh! I see, yes you are quite right about that! Well then that is very cool you got invited to join this! Personally I think your art gets imitated QUITE a lot, but I won't go into that ;)

OK, now I'm REALLY off! I'm drinking sleepy time and watching Alice in Wonderland for the umpteenth time this week, LOL!

Take care sweetie!!!!!

XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldnt agree more with everyone's praise of the wonderful work you produce, you are an absolute machine and I so wish I could bottle up that motivation. I LOVE her lips the most, very pouty like Angelina Jolie..excellent :)

Is that a birdwing butterfly I spy? I think I have one of those in a box somewhere that I need to flatten out! Yay for bug paintings! I need to get a print of your millipede painting one of these days! I need to do some more bug paintings. Oooh, you should do a luna moth painting!

Oooh!! I love BUGS!!! The first "grownup" book I read when I was a little girl was "Insect Engineers: The Story of Ants" - I think it left a permanent mark on me, hehe.

Oh my - luna moths are gorgeous! I'd love to incorporate one into a painting!!

Ooh, I love this one! Hey, I noticed something different (in a good way) about this piece. This is the first time I've seen you do a close-up face of one of your "cute big eyed" fairies(not sure what you call them, hehe)! I think it's a great way to paint them, that way you can emphasize their cute features even more :)
