Good morning! [Feb. 26th, 2004|11:51 am]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
I'm getting ready to paint! I'm working on the new Mother Nature piece (the scary one!) right now =)

You can watch me here!

Later on tonight I will get my print sales up on eBay, and maybe even this painting if I finish it today, hehe!!!!

We still have a LOT of stuff we need to move over from our old apartment =P And then we need to paint the walls and clean and stuff. I'll wait for Matt before I even start anything like that. We'll probably be spending a lot of time over there this weekend (we've taken good care of the place, so hopefully I'll even get the deposit back!!!), so I want to get some painting in while I can!!!

You aren't just a painting machine, you are a MACHINE! GEEZ! you have a lot energy! I'm SO SLUGGISH! BLAH! I only get bursts of energy like that every once in a while...maybe it's the sunshine down there giving you a lot of vitamins I'm not getting in Seattle or something! :)
Oh, I read your other post & just wanted to say--AAAAAAAAARGH! That's gotta be annoying. But I just think that no matter if someone copies you or not, you just go on & do your own thing & eventually they will move on to copying someone else or finally figuring out they need their own style. PLUS, I think anyone into copying someone else's style really doesn't have "artist" deep in their soul, so they eventually are going to just give it up & do something else.

Thank you!!!

Hehe, I'm just a nut - I always feel like painting! Well, sometimes I feel like going for a walk outside or doing something else, but I never "don't feel like painting"! Unless I'm gravely ill, and even then I at least scribble into a sketchbook a little....

Good luck with all of the apartment stuff! I just read your rant too, wow, I have no idea what I would say to those people, lol. I only get about 5 emails a day, so I'm amazed at how you can handle all of that!

I look forward greatly to seing this piece Jas'-you know it appeals to my morbid sensibility to have just a hint of death. I always love Bosch's 'Garden of Earthly delights' for the same reason:)

As for your earlier post, I have to say that I am getting something of the same lately, although I don't suffer the quandry of direct imitation like you do, I find it particularly amusing when fledgling artists ask me 'How do you make it?'*lol
I'd pat them on the back, and push them your way if I didn't think you had enough on your plate already;)

Good luck with your new home.

Hey Jasmine, love the painting you've got going. I sent you an email about the rant post, in case you wanted it private. Keep up the good work!
