Anne Rice is moving to Florida, and is selling her house in the Garden District of New Orleans. I've been there, and it's a gorgeous house - many of her books actually take place in it! I'm currently reading "The Witching Hour" (for the umpteenth time) and most of the book is set in that very house. I looked it up on Realtor.com and found the listing:|
Anne Rice's House
There are no photos there, but Anne has some interior shots on her site: http://www.annerice.com/ano_firststreet.htm and here's an exterior shot: http://www.angelfire.com/va/eternalfire/images/House1.jpg
AAAAH! Why can't I win the lottery???? I'd sooo buy it as a second home.....
LOL! I've read that book a GILLION times. And DAMN! I wish I had a million or so! I'd pitch in. I'm sure we could get others to pitch in a bit and we could all have it as our vacation home! ;)
Oh man - that's one of my favourite books of all time. I soooo want that house!!!!!!
I read about this the other day.............the payments are only $17,300 per month!! Can you imagine?????????????
LOL - I know!! And that's with the assumption that you'll put $750,000 as the down payment!! o_O
Wow it's so gorgeous! I'd love to live in New Orleans. Well, I heard a scary thing on a news radio station once that makes me not want to live there, but it's so pretty! I'd at least like to visit there!
I don't remember the details, but it was something about how there is all this scientific proof that there is going to be a huge hurricane storm sometime in the next so many years (I can't remember exactly the time span they gave it, but it was sometime in this lifetime) that will wipe out New Orleans completely and there will be many fatalities. They talked about it for a long time with lots of people studying it. I don't know if it's completely true, but it still freaked me out!
Oh yes - I remember hearing something about that! It's also very slowly sinking into the Mississippi river, lol. That's one of the problems with building a city on a water-logged location!
god you could have such killer parties in that house......if only i were a millionaire
Anne Rice is one lucky... woman. Thats all I can say =)
I've been to NO, beautiful city. I've always been so jealous of those Halloween parties that Anne Rice throws every year. It would be great to have attended on. So did they say where in Florida she's moving to? Probably Miami in the rich section. I'm in Gainesville, you're near Orlando, right?
Oh yes - I love New Orleans! I'm planning on going down there again soon, after the madness of Mardi Gras is over, lol.
Yep - I'm here in Celebration, FL - not too far from Orlando =)
I know that she had a waterfront condo in Miami Beach for awhile - I'm not sure if she still owns it or not! On her answering machine message she mentioned that she's in the "suburbs somewhere in Florida", but that she wasn't going to publicly disclose her location, which I can completely understand!!!
How will I ever adjust to Anne Rice moving to Florida? ANNE RICE=NEW ORLEANS!! Hmmmmm...I wonder why the move! I guess she'll have to set her stories in the Florida swamps now;)
Okay, lets all go in on it and all live there!!! Please??? I saw it a little while ago and was drooling horribly. ;)
