Argh!!! [Feb. 12th, 2004|01:37 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
I just went downstairs to grab a soda at the grocery store, and it is 83 degrees and sunny, and that swimming pool looks sooooo gooooood right now.

But, I'm forcing myself to paint, hehe. I don't really like going swimming by myself anyways. But it just really looked inviting on a hot day like this!!

Oh that sounds so nice!! I'm sitting here in layered clothing and I still can't stop shivering! Just painting with a window open and a nice gentle breeze coming through sounds dreamy!!

Re:

>sigh< ::dreamily:: it is nice =) I've felt like it's been spring/summer the whole time since I moved here =) I used to get kind of depressed every winter back home, but this year it didn't happen!!!

Re:

LOL!

Wanna know what? I always called it pop too, until I moved down here. I'd say "what type of pop do you guys have here?" and the waiter would look puzzled. Or they'd say - "Wow - you must be from "out west"" or "up north", etc. etc. I've been trying to say soda now, or at least soda-pop, so nobody gets confused, lol!!!!!!!

soda

I called it pop too! All my friends started making fun of me and asking me if I was southern or something so now I call it soda because I was sick of being made fun of.

Pop and Hot Weather

83 degrees? Wow, it was 4 degrees here this morning. I think the windchill was about 15 below zero at least
As for soda/pop Where I grew up in Illinois we called it "pop". Here is Kansas City I hear it called Soda sometimes and pop sometimes. Jasmine, when you were a toddler you called it "candy juice" (your made-up name for pop).

Sodawater

ooh 83 degrees and you are so lucky! =^_^= I'm in central texas and it's lingering around the freezing point. Today we had 40 mph wind and wooo wee it was cold! I've got a trip to corpus christi awaiting me the week after graduation and I CAN'T WAIT!!! I also have the perfect view of the pool outside my apartment and it's sunny outside and I wanan run out and jump in it.... but that would be a bad mistake on a day like today.=^_^=;
I call soda (pop sodapop all them fancey words) soda-water. All the cowboys down here think I'm making fun of em when I go up to em head to to in black and say howdy and ask for a soda-water. I can't help it! I tried saying sodapop or just pop once and my friend slugged me in the arm. I need new friends.
:)
Anybody else hear heard 'sodawater?'

Ooo...I love all those wiggly things (in your painting) that look like roots, or tendrils of some kind!

Thank you!!!! My husband Matt calls them "griggles", lol. I think they're roots, at least right now - things kind of evolve while I paint them....

Re: jump in

Ahhh - I really should have. I just saw the forecast and it's just going to be in the low 70s for the next several days, and cloudy or raining. I should have taken advantage of the hot sunny weather while I could!!!
