yum! we had a lovely thanksgiving. the Tofurky was soooo good! i remembered to baste it repeatedly with my own secret basting mixture (hint: it has Sunny Delight in it!) and it was the perfect texture. i also made mashed potatoes with pepper gravy, roasted carrots with peas, mushroom rice, sweet corn, and pumpkin pie. matt also brough chocolate mousse pie, so we had two pies.

i was playing animal crossing (it was the Harvest Festival in their town) while the pumpkin pie was in the oven, and i accidentally left it in for an HOUR longer than i should have (i had thought i had already taken it out before then!). i took it out, and it had a dark skin on top so i peeled it off and it was perfect! the crust didn't even get burned, it was weird. it was a good pie though =)

today i must paint - i need to finish a commissioned piece (a tattoo design) asap. i just have a little bit more to do - i had to delay it when i was having to get my Fairy Art book stuff all together. i got all of that sent off to the publishers. i talked to one of the guys in charge and he told me that he was going to go to Brian Froud's house to discuss some things for the book. how cool is that? for those of you who don't know who he is, click here http://www.worldoffroud.com/www/main.cfm
Brian (and also his wife Wendy) were the artists behind "Labyrinth" and "The Dark Crystal", and some other Jim Henson productions. Brian Froud has had a lot of best-selling books of his artwork - "Faeries", "Good Faeries, Bad Faeries", etc. Brian is one of the artists i'm collaborating with for the book next year, and i'm absolutely thrilled =)
