Some special pictures...... [Jan. 30th, 2004|07:07 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
Click below to see some pictures you've asked for!

Hehe, several of you have asked about a commission I was working on awhile ago, and I've finally posted it online with permission from the client.

The other is mostly for you, gossamerfaery who asked me to post a photo of my big silly ears =P

You may have seen this in wobblesnorts's icon! She is the lucky owner of the original commissioned painting.

And here is a crappy webcam shot I just grabbed of my ear. It's unaltered, lol.

Yes, my ears do stick out, and yes, it does influence my paintings ;)

Re:

LOL! It's true, my little nephew might just inherit my ears....

Oh yes - I was so ashamed when I was little. I used to put tape on them when I slept, trying to make them stay back, lol!

Now I'm proud =)

My eldest brother, his son, and our brother's daughter all have ears like yours :) I think they got them from my brothers' dad, but I've only met him a time or two. LOL, they all think they are cool, and my nephew tells my niece (his cousin) that they are better than the rest of the family for their uniqueness. And on my mom's side of the family, we have pointed ears! When I was little, I always wore my hair down so no one would see them.

Luckily we grow out of disliking the things we can't change!

Re: I love this one!!

ohhhh! i am glad you like my commissioned original Jasmine did last month!!! Jasmine always does a wonderful job!!! I will treasure my painting forever--i wanted so much to share since others asked and then i asked Jasmine if 10 prints only for LJ friends be alright--she agreed--i am pleased with the reaction it got when shown in Jasmine's journal. I don't know how many prints are available now--you may be able to order one--just ask Jasmine.

Awww! That's a beautiful commission! :) LOL! Ya, know I didn't ever notice your ears once while I was down there! They aren't bad at all and your hair hides them very well :)

But Jasmine, those are Tori Amos' ears too ;) So my theory is, all the fae who have been incarnated into human bodies get the ears! (maybe those who didn't get the ears wont like my theory ;) )

Now I kind of know what you mean when you were talking about that elf-ear surgery working well for your ears. Up to you, they're nice either way - and it's not like you'd ever have to worry what an employer thought of your aultered ears! ;)

Re:

Oh yes - it's always easier for me when my subject has big eyes, hehe! Not to mention, you kind of look related to me already - I've always thought you kind of look like Annie. Or a female version of Bradley ;) ;) ;) I actually painted yours from memory since I didn't have a photo of you and I thought it would be suspicious to ask you for one, hehe!

This is one of the loveliest things you've done Jas'-the colouring of the sky is sumptuous, against the oak brown. Makes me think of a Disney movie in some respects-and I imagine in years to come there will be countless children all over the world, sitting down to watch an animated Jasmine cartoon, clutching little Jasmine dolls to their chests:)

Incidently, that webcam grab, makes me wonder about 'The secret life of Jasmine'
Are you sure you aren't hiding wings under there?
