Crazy weekend [Jan. 12th, 2004|12:03 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
[mood |crazycrazy]

Crazy weekend of room-painting, furniture buying, furniture carry-ing and furniture-putting-togethering. Mostly done by Matt. Too much going on, waaay not enough time. Probably a couple of days' worth of work and buying stuff still. I will POST PICTURES of the bedroom when it's finally done. If you're lucky, I'll post "Before and After" type pictures.

Add that on top of the insane stress of trying to get some very very important portfolio and submission stuff done at the same bloody time, and realising I burned a bunch of stuff on the wrong kind of CDs and whatnot. ARGH!

And the fact I'm half-assedly trying to update my website on breaks. And the fact (happily enough, but stressful!) I've been getting so many more print orders lately, and trying to keep up with that. STRESS! ARGH!

I'm going to be working my arse off today putting some files and stuff together. THEN I WILL SQEEZE IN SOME PAINTING. I have to - I'm going nuts and painting relaxes me. I will post the webcam link when I begin =) I woke up wanting to paint pirates and gypsies and things, we'll see.

Poor Jasmine, you sound so stressed which is odd, I usually don't see you like this lol! I guess it's because I see you paint usually so it must be your comfort zone to be painting - diva artist that you are! I'm predicting you will at least try having an assistant this year even if it's for the job of answering email and listing auctions and packing items. (You still get to do "Matt watching" while he does furniture carry-ing and furniture-putting-togethering when you guys go furniture buying lol!)

Oh yes - I'm all about the creative side of it all - the other stuff just kind of bogs me down sometimes =( I'm such a crazed perfectionist about a lot of it too so it's hard for me to not be in control of everything (it even took me a long time before I finally caved in and had Matt start working for me). I think you're right though - this time next year I'll probably HAVE to hire somebody on or something....

Jasmine, if you ever need help just doing basic web updates, give me a shout. I have plenty of time and html doesn't fry my brain very often ^_~

the thought of ever having to hire an employee really freaks me out :P it seems like it would be such a pain in the ass for the paperwork and taxes and crap. i think ill just hire my sister or best friend or something if i ever have to, at least then i know i like the person:) i hope you get to relax at some point today!!

Oh man - I was just posting that to my sister kenderdrache here: http://www.livejournal.com/users/jasminetoad/230232.html?thread=1596504#t1596504

I'd feel way too weird having an "employee" sitting next to me, lol. I don't like telling people what to do, I'd probably feel like I was nagging them all the time about stuff!!!

Volunteer Needed??

Dear Jasmine:

Heya! Just wanted to let ya know I sent an email to you with regards to the above. I hope you and Matt are doing well and wanted to let ya know I have been there, were you are with so many things to do and not enough time to do them in.

Relax, take a deep breath, and know that we 'perfectionists' always have and will have a hard time designating things for others to do.

Have an awesome day!!!

he, he, i just read through that, you sound like me. even if the person was really nice it would be hard to have them in your home and thinking about it as work, getting up in the morning all grumpy and dreading comming into your home to go to work :P what a weird thought, lol. i also have the same problem with letting people do things for me. its not like i even think they will make some horrible mistake its just hard not to be in control of it anymore or something. well i hope you get some sleep tonight and get to do some painting tomorrow :)
