Paint names..... [Jan. 10th, 2004|02:03 pm]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
LOL!!!!

One of my tubes of paint (a light peachy colour) is titled "Santa's Flesh". LOL! That is just too creepy. I know, I know, it's probably for country-crafters who are painting wooden Santa Claus plaques or something, but it sounds like an evil spell component some Grinch would use, hehe.

It was even funnier though, when I first looked at it I thought it said "Satan's Flesh", which (on the cutesy little label) rightfully made me do a double take!

LOL! Exactly!

Not to mention, the colour is as pale as I am, and isn't Santa supposed to have a rosey complexion? Hehe.

i take it this paint was not made by crayola... they got complaints (if not law suits) from some black people awhile back about changing their "flesh" and "tan" colors to stuff like "peach" and "light ochre"...

i take it "satan's flesh" would be a slightly different color though, right? ;)

Hehe - yeah - the paints I use are terribly un-politically-correct. ALL of the peachy colours have names like "Fleshtone" or "Portrait Skintone" and things like that. Of course, NONE of the tan or brown paints say ANY thing like that, just the caucasian coloured ones!!!

Lol!

The coolest paint names are the little enamels made by Citadel. My brother-in-law paints Warhammer and D&D figurines, and the paints have cool names like "Goblin Green" and "Bleached Bone" and that kinda thing.

That is a really creepy name. And why does it have to be Santa's flesh? Can anyone else have 'flesh' that colour?

Hehe - isn't that silly?

I use all types of liquid acrylics - usually Golden, or the "artist pigment" series of craft paints. This one was some Delta Creamcoat that was marked way down (looking back, it was probably meant for Holiday crafts or something, and that's why it was on sale!)
