I'm painting! I'm working on my Mother Nature painting - I'll probably finish her today (she's got a lot of details in there....). I've decided to probably turn her into a series of paintings. Nature is too complicated and has too many aspects to capture in one painting. This one will be an "Abundance of Life" Mother Nature, with flowers and fruits and eggs and stuff. I'll tackle other aspects in future paintings (like maybe the Elements, Weather, Death/Decay, etc.).|
But for now, you can watch me here!
Oh, a series would be lovely! And can't wait to see "Abundance of Life"! Sounds like it would have a lot of detail....
(Jasmine --this is Patience, here. May I ask you an off topic question? About Kansas City? It looks like we'll be visiting there next month for the first time. Any attractions we shouldn't miss? And are there any Ethiopian restaurants??? Thanks!)
For the Ethiopian restaurants you should come here!!! LOL
Sorry for getting in ;P
YUM!!! We do love it so --but there aren't have any here in central IL, so we like to look for it when we visit bigger cities!
Hehe, well - doesn't seem like as much ever since I moved here to Orlando (which is chockfull of attractions, lol), but I'd definitely suggest you check out The Plaza area in Kansas City - it's the prettiest part of town, lots of fountains, shopping, dining, etc. - here's some info here: http://www.countryclubplaza.com/
Also Kansas City has a WONDERFUL art museum - http://www.nelson-atkins.org/
There is a great restaurant/cafe there at the museum too - beautiful indoor courtyard setting.
Not too far from the Country Club Plaza area is a fun little neighborhood called "Westport" which has a lot of trendy little shops and eateries - there is an Ethiopian restarant there called Blue Nile (didn't make it there before we moved to Florida, but it got good reviews). And on the Kansas side of the border (most of Kansas City is of course in Missouri, but there are some suburbs on the Kansas side too) in Prairie Village, KS there is the Ethiopian "Martha's Cafe", which I've also heard is very good.
Their addresses are here: http://kansascityguide.com/rest_ethiopian.html
Also (for unusual and/or vegetarian food) I've been to a lot of these places and they are all great! : http://www.tofuguide.com/us/mo/kansascity/
Have fun in KC!
Oh, most excellent!! Thanks for the links!
Great idea! I am sadly still stuck with my two star signs. I can't get myself to paint something that I don't feel "inspired" about...:(
WOW she is really looking something special! Putting in some serious time and details on her! And you do such killer hair Jasmine, I like how you render hair, among other things of ocurse ;)
the eyes look different then your normal ones...way coolio though.
I was just curious if you got my payment for two books ? And if so, could you let me know when you get them out ? No hurry, just curious. I know you just got back from viisting. ;)
SiobhanStone@aol.com is the one I check most often.
No worries! I've got them ready to go =) They'll be shipped out probably on Monday (I've been bringing the books to the Post Office in batches so I don't overload them!).
Would you like any special personalizations in them?
If you could do a quick doodle/sketch in each one and note that one is for Grace and one is for Traci, that would be awesome! I told her that I bought it for her for Christmas (late I know!) and she's very excited about it. We love your work and so many of the other artists in this book.
Oooh...she looks so beautiful, from what I can see on the web cam. Can't wait to see this painting from a better angle.
hello! just dropping by to let you know i've added you, hope you add me back? :)
Sure! =) Welcome to my LiveJournal!
