Good morning! [Dec. 30th, 2003|11:33 am]
Jasmine Becket-Griffith
Last night we went to the Olive Garden for our anniversary, and it was a lot of fun =)

Ah, I went to the grocery store and the Post Office today - it was great - the Post Office was completely deserted (after the hustle and bustle of the Holidays it was very refreshing).

I'm going to go eat a salad or something and then back to painting! I'm pretty far along on a new mermaid painting, and have the beginnings of another light green and peach coloured piece which I'm not sure what I'll do yet - some lighthearted cute piece probably.

The weather is glorious - nearly 80 degrees, but overcast and breezy so it's not too hot. Just perfect. It really makes me want to go outside and play, but I really need to finish these pieces and get them up on eBay.

My dad emailed me some photos of him and Rammstein (his Great Dane, not the band, but he is named after them, lol) walking in the Ozarks the day after I left and it was very pretty - mossy cliffs and wintry trees. I might use one of them for a landscape base on a new painting.

I also want to do a new Alice in Wonderland piece sometime soon as well....

AND I really want to do some more digital painting with my graphics tablet too. Mostly for financial reasons I'm always hesitant to do digital pieces because there is no "original" to sell, but I've been selling a lot of prints lately, so I might just do that. I love digital painting, but the main problem I have with it is that I get soooo sidetracked. I'll be painting away on my tablet and then I'll think - hmm... maybe THIS would look better like THAT (since it's digital I can hit "undo" and do infinite revisions) and I get caught up in the details. That, and sitting at the computer makes me too tempted to start browsing online or playing Dark Age of Camelot, and that kind of thing. We'll see.

I'll post a link when I start painting! I know that some of you had problems viewing my webcam yesterday - I'm not sure but I think it might have something to do with the fact I'm getting SO many viewers at a time and I don't think that Yahoo's free geocities stuff is meant to handle that, lol. It looks like I seriously need to upgrade to something a little more professional very soon.....

Ohh Olive Garden, I have never been there, glad you guys spend time together!!!!!!!!!
Oh my god, I wonder how many people actually launch onto your webcam page? Since now the book is out, I am sure more people know about you and watch you paint!

If the weather was like that here all the time, I'd never get any work done, because I would want to be outside all the time!

I'd love to see a new Alice piece!

Mmm...Olive Garden! That is a great restaurant for vegetarians, I love the cheese ravioli :)
Hmmm...you could probably do some digital paintings and just sell lots of prints of them? Or maybe people would even pay as much as your originals for it? I'm not sure...I do know that it's harder to sell digital art on ebay. I love digital painting too (less messy and easier to experiment!), but I have the same problem, I lose focus if I'm on the computer, lol!
