Ah - we're back, and laden with groceries. We hit the Celebration Farmer's Market for produce first, and then to SuperTarget for all the rest. We have tons of food now, hehe. I absolutely LOVE the fact that we pay ZERO sales tax on groceries in Florida =) |
Christmas was wonderful - I had such a smooth perfect visit. On Christmas Eve my mother had the yearly celebration at her house, and I got to see everybody on that side of the family -especially my cousins novemberhour, greenhoodloxley, montythemobster, and belfastar. I even got to talk to Bradley on the phone from Iraq which was AWESOME! We had a lot of fun, good food, good presents. My sisters kenderdrache and sunkachina were there, and their husbands grimsguhnome and thedonkdonk. And of course Kachina brought my little cutie nephew Theodore, and he was the center of attention (and rightfully so).
The next day we had Christmas morning at my dad's house - I got so many tons of great presents - it was crazy!!! Luckily everything was compact or in small packages so I actually fit it all into my suitcases on the way back on the plane. After opening gifts there, we went to my Grandma Griffith's house up in St. Joseph, MO to have Christmas with my dad's side of the family. That was a LOT of fun too! Then that evening we went to my step-mother Robin's mother's house, where Robin's side of the family celebrated Christmas, with more good food and presents.
Then yesterday was thedonkdonk's birthday and we went with him to the casino and I won $40 =)
Then I flew back home late last night, home to Matty! I'm sure he missed me while I was gone, but he's happy to be with me now =)
NOW however, I am PAINTING and you can watch me on my my webcam!
yay for matt...i am sure he was very happy. tell him i said hi and he has to give you lots of luvin hugs and kisses.
Sounds like a fabulous trip!!!
Your ears must have been burning up a storm this Christmas, yea?
I know that we would have had a little part in that yesterday, anyway!
She LOVED the book, and she wants a tattoo of one of your pieces on her back. (Recommendations? and how would she go about doing it?) And of course I loved mine, too. You are so sweet, Jasmine!
WELCOME HOME! :)*
Wow hehe, it always surprises me to see the book when I'm not expecting it, lol!!
Hehe - I'm so glad she liked it =)
Ah yes! Lots of folks have been getting tattoos of my work - there are already a couple of them that are both from my pieces in the Art of Faery:Thoughtful Fairy TattooWood Nymph Tattoo
What she should do is pick whatever painting she wants (if she needs a bigger image of it, have her email me), print it out and bring it to any prospective tattoo parlours. She should ask them if they think they could work with the image, etc. and how much they would charge ;) They'll basically take the picture and make a template of it to make the tattoo from it, like tracing.
At any rate - if she could send me a photo after it's healed that would be awesome! I'm compiling a new section of my website where I'll show off my fans' tattoos =)
I think that the best tattoos are the ones where the faeries are kind of flesh coloured (for caucasians at least), because that way they only need to outline the fairy and add a little shading rather than having to colour it in green or anything, lol. The other day one of my fans sent me a photo of another one of my old Thoughtful Fairies here: http://www.strangeling.com/fairytattoo3.jpg
and I think it looks especially good because they just left her own skin showing through as they fairy's skin colour! It's probably less expensive (since there is less ink) and less painful (since there's less poking to colour it in, lol).
oooh that one looks nice!! I know her fav. color is green, so I'll have to peruse your site for her (she's internet disabled, lol) and send my mom some things to show her. I'll drop you an e-mail and let you know which one she picks! :D
Welcome home! Sounds like a great Christmas Jasmine! =) Geez you don't waste much time, you're right back to work!
Welcome home Jasmine! I'm glad you had a great Christmas with your family! :D
sounds like you had loads of fun!! glad you are back:)
Lucky you to have so many family members online. I have one of my brothers online and my mother in law, but my parents have trouble with instant messenger. They usually end up calling me to help them figure out how to do it. *rolling eyes* ;)
glad you had a good time!!!
Ohh painting already...I am sure you could not wait!
